Arena

Inaugurated in 2000 on the occasion of the first home match in the history of Trentino Volley (Itas Diatec Trentino-European Padova 3-2 on 22 October 2000), the PalaTrento (now called ” BTS Arena”) has always been the venue for the home matches of the men’s team of the Via Trener club. From the 2023/24 season, it will also be the venue for the women’s team’s matches, in Serie A1.

The structure is located on the southern outskirts of the provincial capital of Trentino (read here how to get there), in the sports area of Ghiaie, which also includes the PalaGhiaccio (Ice Arena), a football field, and a baseball field. In the immediate vicinity of the arena, there are large parking lots that allow all fans to park their cars near the facility.

Inside the building, in addition to the main hall (which can accommodate, during training, up to three volleyball courts at the same time), there is also a gym for artistic gymnastics, a fencing area, a space for orthopedics, and a fully equipped weight room; these activities are supported by a total of 16 changing rooms, which include 74 showers and 42 restrooms.

It is also worth noting the presence of three bars (one behind the grandstand on the north side and two behind the curves on the short sides, below the scoreboards), a medical room, and a press conference room, where post-match press conferences are usually held. The press tribune, located during games close to the two short sides of the court, is equipped with six telephone lines (two of which are ISDN) and a wireless area to allow all journalists present to stay constantly connected to the internet. The stands can accommodate 3,969 seated spectators, and the total capacity, considering also the retractable stands at court level, exceeds 4,000 seats. The Curva Gislimberti, the historic home of the yellow-blue fans, was completely renovated, improved, and expanded in capacity in the summer of 2015 and is now located behind the short side of the west court. The arena is also a state-of-the-art facility in terms of technology and comfort, featuring a fiber optic wifi network and air conditioning systems, which is why in recent years the Italian Men’s National Volleyball Team has often made this arena their summer training base
Over the years it has changed its name twice: from March 2018 to May 2023 it took the name of “BLM Group Arena”; from September 1, 2025 it is called “BTS Arena”.
