SuperLega, three more points: 3-0 against Padova in the first home game

Trento, 26 October 2025

The first week of the 2025/26 Credem Banca SuperLega ended with another three points and a new 3-0 victory, this time at home, for the Itas Trentino men’s team. This afternoon at the BTS Arena, the Italian champions did not disappoint their fans (3,643 spectators), beating Sonepar Padova in just three sets in the second round of the regular season, which also coincided with the yellow-blues’ first home game of the season.
Clearly galvanized by the ceremony celebrating the sixth Scudetto victory, which took place immediately before the match with the placement of the new tricolor banner on the roof of the arena, and by the opportunity to play home games on the tricolor Mondoflex court, which is reserved only for the reigning champions, Mendez’s team rode a wave of enthusiasm for the first two and a half sets and, even when they fell sharply in the final part of the third set (from 21-16 to 24-25), they still managed to muster the energy (both mental and technical) to close out the contest. This was thanks to another effective performance in attack (55% as a team) and, in particular, a trio of high ball players who scored a total of 45 points: the most prolific scorer was the Spaniard Ramon (19 points with 68%, one block, and three aces), a performance that earned him his first MVP award in a yellow and blue jersey, but Michieletto (14 with 55%) and Faure (12 with 44%) were also two important weapons in Sbertoli’s game.
