The club

Trentino Volley is one of the leading teams in the Italian and international volleyball scene.

Although the club was founded only 18 years ago, on 23rd May 2000, Trentino Volley Inc is one of the most important organizations in the Italian and international world of volleyball. Not only is this confirmed by the many awards and attestations the club received over a short period of time, but also by the team’s recent results that lead it to become Italian, European and finally World champion. The team reached major league in 2000 after acquiring all the sport rights of a historical volleyball team like Ravenna and rising from the ashes of Volley Mezzolombardo. Volley Mezzolombardo had always been a regional reference point as regards this sport and was initially called Eurock, to then change its name to Itas Btb thanks to the partnership chaired by Diego Mosna (an industrialist in the paper production and yet President of the Malè Volleyball major league, the “industrial association of volleyball”, to 2014).  Over a short period of time the team was able to break through into the world of one of the most loved and important sports ever.

For the top athletes of the movement, but also and especially for the fans and sponsors interested in following and participating in this wonderful adventure, Trentino Volley – one of the first Trentino clubs to reach the highest level of a team sport – has quickly become a point of reference for the entire national, regional, and provincial sports movement.

A past of great prestige

In the first twenty-four seasons of its existence in Trento, some of the most important and prestigious players in the history of world volleyball have passed through: Tofoli, Bernardi, Sartoretti, Kazakov, Vujevic, Heller, Nascimento, Hübner, Meoni, Winiarski, Kaziyski, Nikolov, Nikola Grbic, Vissotto, Raphael, Stokr, Birarelli, Juantorena, Giannelli, Lucarelli, Lisinac, Podrascanin, Michieletto, Sbertoli, and Lavia are just some of the most renowned names that have brought glory to this club. This partnership boasts a highly valuable trophy collection. Equally important is the youth sector’s trophy case, which includes ten national championships as well as several titles in regional youth championships. Beyond the results, the primary goal of the yellow-blue youth academy has always been to help the young athletes grow both technically and competitively, as well as in terms of personal development and maturity.”

A strong entrepreneurial imprint

One of the most important contributions brought by President Diego Mosna has been the strong entrepreneurial imprint: management skills, intuition, balance, prudence, attention to the customer with its many and varied needs (the customer is the sponsor, but the customer is also and especially the spectator), flexibility, financial and asset solidity are just some of the characteristics that distinguish the club. Throughout its history, Trentino Volley has had the honor of organizing the All-Star Game 2000, the Junior League Finals 2002, the Coppa Italia Final Eight 2003, the first phase concentration of the Top Teams Cup 2005, and the CEV Champions League Final Four 2011 in Bolzano, always receiving compliments and thanks from the organizations that entrusted the company of Via Trener for these types of events.

The audience, the jewel in the crown of the club

A special mention should undoubtedly be reserved for the audience, which has always been the jewel in the crown of Trentino Volley. The overall figures related to the 2023/24 SuperLega regular season were in line with those of previous seasons.

Season 2023-2024

The Trentino audience has thus confirmed itself as one of the most present and numerous in the entire category, alongside Modena, Perugia, and Verona. Beyond the numbers, it should also be emphasized for its exemplary sportsmanship, which in the past has won the “Jimmy George” award on eight occasions, given to the most correct and numerous audience of the season. Even in this sports year, the audience distinguished itself through solidarity initiatives (membership fees have always been donated to charity) and respect for opposing fans. It is also important to remember that Trentino fans follow their team in most of the away matches, thanks to the “bus+ticket” packages provided by the club. Trentino Volley has an organized fan base, the Curva Gislimberti, which every Sunday organizes beautiful choreographies and chants to cheer on the team in the best possible way, often looking toward social causes with charitable initiatives throughout the year. Trentino Volley cares about its fans and has always made and will always make every effort, through discounts and special initiatives, to keep them numerous and respectful over time. A treasure to be carefully guarded.

Since the summer of 2022, the women’s sector as well

Starting in the summer of 2022, Trentino Volley decided to double its commitment at high levels in the world of volleyball. On June 6, 2022, the acquisition of the rights to the Serie A2 women’s league from Trentino Rosa (the club that had previously brought the top category to the Trentino region in the women’s sector) was officially announced. This operation led to the creation of a new, important branch of the Club, which immediately achieved success, as in early May 2023, the team was promoted to Serie A1. The relegation to Serie A2 in March 2024 does not change the direction of the project: starting again from the lower category, the medium-to-long-term goal remains to develop a dedicated sector of the club that promotes women’s volleyball in the province, drawing from and benefiting from over twenty years of experience in the men’s game. A new exciting challenge has been launched.
