Curva Gislimberti, since September 2011, the name that encompasses all the organized fan support. Starting from the beginning of the 2011/12 Serie A1 championship, the two organized fan groups of Trentino Volley merged into one large new group to improve the support offered to their beloved team. From September 2011 onwards, there was no longer space at the PalaTrento for Fans Club Cuore Giallo Blu and VolleyFollia, but only for the “Curva Gislimberti,” the name chosen to seal this union.
‘During the summer of 2011, the idea had developed to present ourselves in September not as two separate groups but as one, distinguished by the yellow and blue colors,’ explains Massimo Cristofaro, the first president of Curva Gislimberti. ‘It was a decision shared by all the members and ratified by an assembly held on Tuesday, August 22, when we also chose the name. Curva Gislimberti (named in memory of Paolo Gislimberti, a great enthusiast of regional volleyball who died in September 2000 in Monza, struck by a tire while volunteering for the Cea during the annual Formula One Grand Prix) represents continuity with our past, as the area we occupy at PalaTrento has always been called that. Operating with two distinct entities was becoming a waste of ideas and resources, including economic ones. Since the second half of the 2010/11 season, collaboration between the two groups increased with positive results, as seen during the Final Four of the Champions League in Bolzano, the playoff finals, and the V-Day in Rome. The path followed so far has become, in fact, an absolutely natural transition. We will maintain our independence but will always be in close contact with the club.’
The primary goal of ‘Curva Gislimberti’ is to involve the entire arena in supporting the team, always in the spirit of utmost fairness, avoiding any form of violence, but instead strengthening humor and the joy of sharing moments, whether exhilarating or not.
