Trentino Volley 2025/26 season unveiled

Mezzocorona (Trento), 13 October 2025

The iconic setting of the Mezzocorona hydroelectric power plant, owned by Dolomiti Energia, was the stage for the official launch of Trentino Volley’s 2025/26 season.
The atrium of the plant, which has been producing clean, renewable energy for nearly a century, provided the perfect backdrop for presenting the Club’s two top-tier teams — once again gearing up for the men’s SuperLega and the women’s Serie A2 championships — to sponsors, local authorities, and the media. The event allowed over a hundred attendees to meet every member of the new rosters and celebrate the long-standing partnership with Dolomiti Energia, which this year marks a decade of collaboration.
“The choice of the Mezzocorona hydroelectric plant as the venue for this presentation was no coincidence. The same energy that powers our turbines also fuels the passion of these teams. That’s why the name Dolomiti Energia has been on the gialloblù jerseys for ten years: together, we combine sport, social cohesion, and responsible growth. These are the principles that make us proud to stand alongside Trentino Volley,” said Silvia Arlanch, President of the Dolomiti Energia Group, as she opened the event.
Before officially introducing the two Itas Trentino teams, local authorities took the stage to welcome the 26th competitive season in Trentino Volley’s history. “While thanking the Club for everything it does on a daily basis, I’d like to share what a youth player told me on Sunday during the Festival dello Sport,” said Elisabetta Bozzarelli, Deputy Mayor of Trento – “He explained that he trains hard not only to improve as a player but also to become a better person. That’s why I thank Trentino Volley — not only for the results they achieve on the court but also for the values they pass on to their young athletes.”
“We’ve just had a fantastic weekend for our region thanks to Festival dello Sport,” said Maurizio Fugatti, President of the Autonomous Province of Trento. “If Trentino shines on the international stage today, it’s because of the hard work behind the scenes over time. Trentino Volley has played a leading role in that, bringing prestige to the region through its efforts and results.”
“We’re in a location that symbolically reflects the team’s energy and dynamism,” added Mattia Gottardi, Provincial Sports Councillor. “We’ve brought in a winning coach to a winning organization. Expectations are high — we’ve got World Champions, including the best player from the World Championship. Trentino Volley has become a key asset for our region, helping showcase our beauty to the world.”

“Thanks to Dolomiti Energia for hosting us — this was a great idea,” said Marcello Poli, President of Trentino Volley. “The support from sponsors and institutions is fundamental to our daily work and allows us to keep aiming high. So, I applaud those who saw early on the potential for our activities to be a powerful driving force for the community.
The women’s team has already started their season in the best way with two fantastic wins. Now we’re waiting for the men’s team — who may be a bit tired after a busy summer with their national teams — but I’m confident that under Coach Mendez’s leadership, they’ll bring us great joy. I’ve asked both teams to entertain us: that’s how results will come too.”
Finally, it’s time for on‑court protagonists to speak. “There is a lot of enthusiasm. A combative spirit has emerged quickly, and I hope we’ll entertain our fans,” said Alessandro Beltrami, head coach of the women’s Itas Trentino team, echoing the President’s message. “We must continue on this path — the season is long, but our two wins against Casalmaggiore and Club Italia give us confidence and passion.”
“I really like the energy forming within our group — we’re young and very eager to do well,” added Sofia Monza, team captain and setter for the women’s team. “It’s only the beginning, but I’m sure we’re heading in the right direction.”
“I feel great here in Trentino,” stated Marcelo Mendez, head coach of the men’s Itas Trentino team. “From the very first moment, I knew we’d be able to work very well together, and I’m really pleased with everything. I’m coaching talented players who give their all in the gym every day. We can build something special this season.”
“Winning the World Championship recently helps keep the excitement high and fatigue low,” explained team captain Riccardo Sbertoli. “It was a long and intense tournament, but I’m thrilled to be back in Trento.”
“You never get used to winning — it’s always wonderful and always more challenging,” said World Championship MVP Alessandro Michieletto. “We hope to relive those emotions this season wearing the Itas Trentino jersey.”
The event concluded with words from Bruno Da Re: “This venue is special, and I’m glad we had the chance to present the teams here. Today’s event was a preview dedicated to our sponsors, giving them a chance to meet our teams — and we thank them because, without their support, running such a significant operation wouldn’t be possible.
The women’s team is off to a great start — now it’s the men’s turn. It’ll be a tough and thrilling championship.”
As of next weekend, it’s back to action on the court: The Itas Trentino women’s team will play their third consecutive home match in Serie A2 Group B and the Itas Trentino men’s team will make their SuperLega debut as reigning champions on Tuesday, October 21, in Cisterna di Latina.
