Filippo Lanza attacks against Sir Safety Conad block

The PalaEvangelisti of Perugia rejects the victory’s hopes of Diatec Trentino in the first seasonal big match of Super League. On a field where earlier in the regular season had always got the victory against the Sir Safety Conad, the champions of Italy tonight encountered the first stop of the season in the Super League championship UnipolSai yielding for 1-3 to the hosts. The remake of the 2015 championship semifinal proved bewitched by Lanza and his teammates, who played at par with the hosts for three sets, giving the impression of being able to take over the match before yielding a crash in the last part after losing at the advantages the decisive third period.
Excluding the last part, the proof of the Yellow-blues was still generous and exhilarating; without major alternatives in place 4 (Urnaut still pitted), the team has indeed struggled point to point against Perugia, thanks to the large vein realized by Lanza (15) and Djuric (21) and to the attention shown to the block by Giannelli and Solé (9 points in two), who compensated for most of the encounter difficulties already revealed during the attack (36% of the team). Sir Safety Conad was more effective and accurate in this skill (only three direct errors) and, leaning almost exclusively on Atanasijevic in the second half of the match (33 points with 51%), found a way to get on top of a very complicated match at least until the 25-27 of the third set. The fourth set was decided by the Serbian opposite and the constant presence of Birarelli by the net, who eventually scored 11 times with 89% by the net in his first race as a former.
