Trento, November 7th, 2015
The third round of the regular season of Super League UnipolSai 2015/16 will be played entirely tomorrow, on Sunday, November 8th. After the interlude of the European Champions League, for the leader Diatec Trentino comes time for the first big seasonal match also in the championship; the Italian champions will visit the Sir Safety Conad Perugia, in the most anticipated match of the whole matchday. The kick-off is scheduled at 5.00 pm at PalaEvangelisti, broadcasted live on RAI Sport 1 TV and commentary on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO Boasting the first place in the standings thanks to the 3-1 imposed on Monza and Padova and the great European debut, Trentino Volley deals with the trip to Umbria looking for important confirmations. For the remake of the semifinal championship (won 2-1), Radostin Stoytchev - who made complete in the morning today, the preparation for the match with a technical-tactical training session at PalaTrento before leaving to Perugia - will still not be able to count on Urnaut but can at least count on the gradual recovery of Djuric, who appeared in better condition during Thursday’s match, won for 3-0 against Maaseik.
"The underdogs for this match are all for Perugia, playing at home and that compared to us can surely count on a game system more run-in” - said the coach of the Diatec Trentino presenting the event. -“Five players of the grid type have been confirmed, alongside elements of those like Kaliberda, Russell and Birarelli, who will further increase the average level of the team. To win this game we will have to find a way to put them in difficulty, working a lot on our game and trying to improve it continuously."
Within seven days the Super League UnipolSai 2015/16 will be on the field three times, considering also the commitment midweek with Piacenza (on Thursday in PalaTrento) and next Sunday in Forli; the aim of the Italian champions will be to collect as many points as possible and then look at the second part of the first round (full of big and close matches) with greater confidence.
The confrontation of tomorrow will be the 616° official in the history of Trentino Volley, the 385° ever in the regular season, and will see the company of via Trener go in search of the 209^ victory in its history. A special event for the Captain Filippo Lanza that, after reaching 1,400 points in Yellow-blues this week, will face the player (Birarelli) from whom he inherited this particular role.
FIRST TIME AS AN EX OF DUTY FOR BIRARELLI After 345 matches , 2,539 points and 16 won titles in eight seasons together, for the first time Trentino Volley and Emanuele Birarelli will meet as opponents in an official match. For the middle-blocker from Marche, who wore the Yellow-blue captain's armband in the last two years to less than 91 times (more than him just Kaziyski) and who, against his current team (Perugia), in the last playoffs he became the record holder of appearances for the Club of Via Trener, will then be a very special game as it will be for the various Stoytchev, Colaci, Djuric and Lanza, who along with "Bira" have shared many victories.
PREVIOUSLY The one of tomorrow will be the twelfth absolute confrontation between the two companies, who began to officially compete only in the 2012/13 season, but during the last two have definitely raised the frequency of their confrontation through repeated meetings in the Italian Cup and Play Off Scudetto. The balance is in favor of the Yellow-blues for 9-2, thanks also to the partial 5-1 imposed in six fights last season. Three of four matches previously played in PalaEvangelisti were won by the Yellow-blues: once for 3-0 (on November 7th, 2012) and two for 3-2 (on December 22nd, 2013 and on October 26th, 2015), while in the last occasion were the Umbrians to win for 1-3 (on April 28th, 2014, race 2 of the semifinal league). Sir Safety Company is a native of Bastia Umbria, then moved to Perugia when landed in Serie A2, and therefore not attributable to the partnership weblog RPA-LugiBacchi.it, who played in Perugia between 2002 and 2010 and that Trento challenged 21 times, winning in 12 occasions.
REFEREES The meeting will be headed by Luca Sobrero (from Carcare - Savona, in Serie A since 1996 and international since 2001) and Diego Pol (from Treviso, referee in role since 2000 and international since 2013 ), both at the second race of the season in Super League UnipolSai 2015/16. To the Ligurian whistle is curiously tied the last previous trip to Trentino Volley in Umbria: on April 28th, 2015 (Game 2 of the semifinals of the playoffs lost for 1-3 in Perugia). For Pol the intersection with the most recent Trento is instead linked to February 8th 2015, a 3-0 victory at the Assago Forum in Milan.
