The PalaPanini rejects only at the last moment the assault of Diatec Trentino for the Italian Del Monte Super Cup 2015; one hundred sixty-four days after winning the champions league, the team did everything to spoil the party for the hosts. The first trophy of the new season, which as tradition puts face to face the winners of the tricolor and those who won the Italian Cup the previous year, has been won at the end by the Emilians and enriches the bulletin board of the hosts of DHL Modena, capable to impose at the tie break after nearly two and a half hours of pure battle.
In the presence of an implant that once again was near full house, the Italian champions have sold their dearest skin against a team like that of home, although having run-in game mechanisms, had to sweat all the way to prevail. The tricolor return home without the trophy but with many useful informations in view of the season, which has started today. For long periods the team fielded by Stoytchev has in fact shown a volleyball already organized and pleasant, made of so great agonism and spirit just to play so important games: the 29 points of Djuric joined with the 22 of Antonov (who played as regular throughout the entire match and nice surprise of the evening) and to the positive entrances of Lanza (13 with 57%) and Daniele Mazzone (3 winning blocks in four sets) put often under pressure Modena and are the main positive notes from which to start again. Eventually DHL lifted the trophy exploiting the great evening of Vettori (32 points with 4 blocks and 3 blocks, MVP of the match) and the verve of Ngapeth; it was the blue opposite to be saved by the bell in a match that for the hosts was enormously complicated after the comebacks completed by guests in the first and fourth set.
