The player spent a well deserved week on vacation in an esotic place before getting back to work in the gym with the ball and before beginning his third experience with the National team. Even at the beach, where he relaxed and rested to prepare for the 2017 World League 2017 on June 2nd in Pesaro, Simone Giannelli doesn’t stop thinking about Trentino Volley and the supporters that cheered him during all the 56 matches played in season 2016/2017. All this was confirmed by the official Facebook page http://www.2343ec78a04c6ea9d80806345d31fd78-gdprlock/SimoneGiannelliOfficial (counts already 8.000 supporters) and the words of the setter from Bolzano posted this weekend on Instagram. He thanked the team, staff, the Club’s President, managers, sponsors and supporters in what he defined “...an amazing world to live and work in, with a lot of enthusiasm, serenity, humility but also pain and anger. We felt a lot of emotions, something nobody can take away from us”.
Before going on vacation, Simone made a balance sheet at the microphone of RTTR of the ended season. “Although we didn't achieve any victory in any championship, I think this was an important season and I’m happy of the things we have done – he said - . Thanks to the support of the team and coach, I feel I’ve grown and I’m glad I had this experience. I’m sure that all I’ve learned will be useful for the season in the National Team. After a week of rest and relax I m will start very motivated and willing to do my best in the National Team, in order to be stronger than ever the next season in Trento”.
Giannelli said a few words also about Vettori, the new opposite of Diatec Trentino. “I Know very well Luca, we shared many important moments with Italy and I’m happy he chose Trento to continue with his career – he explained - . We’ve always had a good feeling also outside the court, but his arrival is important for the contribution to the team. He is a very technical and physical opposite; my job will be to help him, keeping him at the centre of the game. The first market operation shows the strong will to bring Trento once again among the teams that are likely to win SuperLega”.
