SuperLega, on Sunday again on the field at PalaTrento for Diatec Trentino–Biosì Indexa

Vettori blocked Fey during the away match
SuperLega Unipolsai 2017/18 comes back on the field already during this weekend for the 25th turn of regular season, the penultimate of the return round, which will have its prologue tonight with the match between Vibo Valentia and Verona. Diatec Trentino will instead play at PalaTrento on Sunday February 25th versus Biosì Indexa Sora. The start of the match is scheduled for 6 p.m.: live broadcast on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel by clicking at www.elevensports.it/superlega.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO The yellow-blues are facing their last home championship match before the start of the Play Offs Scudetto with the need to obtain all the three available points, to keep protecting their fourth place in ranking from the assaults of Calzedona, which will enter the field already this evening and could then eventually get ahead.
“We can’t afford any distraction if we want to keep protecting our place in ranking – explained coach Angelo Lorenzetti during the presentation of the match - . The ranking clearly says that we are in a better position but we will have to play in a humble way knowing that Sora has improved a lot during the regular season, if we want to confirm our supremacy. Biosì has often won very hard sets, fought point-to-point, and played very well in away matches in difficult circumstances. We will have to keep in mind all of these notes if we want to enter the field with the right attitude”.
The coach from Marche has the whole roster of thirteen players at his disposal, which regularly trained in the last days at PalaTrento, the stadium in which will enter the field again also on Wednesday February 28th for the last turn of Pool E of Champions League versus Maaseik.
Trentino Volley in this occasion will play its 749th official match of its history, the 343rd overall at PalaTrento, and will aim for the 270th victory in front of its public.
THE OPPONENTS Biosì Indexa Sora comes in Trentino right after its first victory in the return round. In the postponed match of the 24th turn of regular season, played on Thursday evening at PalaPolsinelli, the black-and-white team won in fact 3-1 versus Castellana Grotte, reaching 10 points in ranking and sharing the same place in ranking as the one of the team from Puglia itself. The enthusiasm coming from the third seasonal victory (the previous victories were obtained in the going round versus the same BBC and Vibo Valentia) could regenerate the team from Lazio in the final part of the season, in which they could still aim for the fifth place, starting from the round of sixteen of the Play Offs dedicated to the placement that will qualify for the Challenge. Among the names of the players coached by Mario Barbiero, the most important one is obviously the one of the opposite Dusan Petkovic, who with just two days before the start of the season, is the leader of the top-scorer ranking with 475 points in 24 matches (almost 20 scored points in every match). The Serbian player usually plays with high balls together with the expert Rosso and the Danish Nielsen, supported by the Bulgarian setter Seganov, who has very high setting skills. As middle-blockers play Maffei and Caneschi (former Club Italia player), who showed great blocking skills.
THE BACKGROUND Trentino Volley and Argos Volley Sora only played three official matches in the past versus each other, the two played in the regular season of SuperLega 2016/17 and the one in the going round of this regular season. The balance sheet is only in favour of Diatec Trentino, which let the opponents only two sets: the one lost at PalaTrento (December 16th 2016) and the one in the match played during this regular season on December 17th in Frosinone, ended 25-13, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-22. There’s also another match played at PalaPolsinelli of Sora won 3-0 on October 9th 2016.
REFEREES The match will be refereed by Marco Braico (from Torino, in Serie A since 2003) and Omero Satanassi (from Ravenna, official referees since 1996 and international since 2005). The two referees will direct the first match together this season.
