Convocations for the Italian national team, four yellowblues have been chosen

Federvolley officially announced the list of the athletes who have been chosen by the manager of the Italian national team Gianlorenzo Blengini to participate during summer 2018 to the Volleyball Nations League and to the Mediterranean Games. In this double list there are the names of four players from Trentino Volley of the just ended season: the spiker Filippo Lanza and the setter Simone Giannelli have been chosen for the official list of Volleyball Nations League 2018, while the spiker Oreste Cavuto and the libero Matteo Chiappa are in the list of the so called “group B”, to play during the Mediterranean Games (Terragona – Spain, from June 22nd to July 1st). In the two lists there arw also other players from Trentino Volley, as the opposite Gabriele Nelli (who played this season in Padua) and the middle blocker Gianluca Galassi (who has been playing in Milan for two years).

These are the twentysix athletes who have been selected for the Volleyball Nations League 2018, which will be reduced to twentyone players before May 15th:
Setters: Michele Baranowicz (Wixo LPR Piacenza), Simone Giannelli (Diatec Trentino), Riccardo Sbertoli (Revivre Milano), Luca Spirito (Calzedonia Verona).
Middle blockers: Simone Anzani (Sir Safety Conad Perugia), Davide Candellaro (Cucine Lube Civitanova), Enrico Cester (Cucine Lube Civitanova), Enrico Diamantini (Bunge Ravenna), Daniele Mazzone (Azimut Modena), Alberto Polo (Kioene Padova), Fabio Ricci (Sir Safety Conad Perugia).
Spikers: Oleg Antonov (Ziraat Ankara), Osmany Juantorena (Cucine Lube Civitanova), Filippo Lanza (Diatec Trentino), Gabriele Maruotti (Taiwan Excellence Latina), Simone Parodi (Wixo LPR Piacenza), Giacomo Raffaelli (Bunge Ravenna), Luigi Randazzo (Kioene Padova).
Opposites: Andrea Argenta (Azimut Modena), Gabriele Nelli (Kioene Padova), Giulio Sabbi (Azimut Modena), Ivan Zaytsev (Sir Safety Conad Perugia).
