National Teams, a victory and a defeat for Giannelli in the double test match vs Australia

The first seasonal weekend with the Italian National kit on consisted in a victory and a defeat for Diatec Trentino’s setter Simone Giannelli. The player from Bolzano was among the main and most-awaited protagonists in the double test match Italia-Australia played between Friday and Saturday in Reggio Calabria and Catania. In the first match the setter played the entire match starting from the starting six and scoring 3 points (2 aces and an attack with 50%) but its National Team was defeated 2-3 (25-16, 18-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-17), whereas in the second match he entered from the bench during every set, scoring an ace in the 3-0 victory (29-27, 25-22, 26-24). Giannelli will be among the fourteen Italian players who will build up Italian National Team during next weekend in Serbia for his absolute Volleyball Nations League debut.
