World Club Cup 2018, the names of the eight teams have been released

Today in Torino, the Fivb presented the 2018’s edition of the World Club Cup, that will take place in Poland in the period between the 26th November and the 2nd December in the cities of Radom, Rzeszów and Czestochowa. The eight participants and the composition of the two Pools of the first phase are set. Except from Trentino Volley (that, for the eighth time will participate from the beginning, thanks to a wild card provided by the International Federation) the list comprehends the Polish teams Skra Belchatow (champion of the organizing country) and Asseco Resovia (wild card), and the Russian teams Zenit Kazan (champion of Europe) and Fakel Novy Uregoy (wild card), the Iranian Khatam Ardakan (Asian champion of 2018), the Brazilian team Sada Cruzeiro (South America champion) and the team Cucine Lube Civitanova (wild card).
For the fifth time in its history Trentino Volley will try and win the World Cup starting from Pool B, it will have to face the hosting team of Asseco playing at home in Rzeszòw, Sada and Ardakan. Kazan, Novy Urengoy, Civitanova and Belchatow will play instead in Pool A, in Radom.
In the next hours a time-scale of the first phase will be drawn up. The first two classified of each round (that will be played with the Round Robin formula between the 26th and the 29th of November) will have access to the semifinals and finals, that ought to take place on the 1st and the 2nd of December in Czestochowa.
