Giannelli at “RTTR Volley”: “Towards the debut in SuperLega aware of our resources”

The second episode of “RTTR Volley”, the broadcast dedicated to Trentino Volley, was characterized by the presence of Simone Giannelli.  During the conversation with Sara Ravanelli, the anchorwoman, the new Itas Volley captain told his first impression about this new season and much more. Here are some of the most important steps.

SUPERCOPPA. “I am happy with what we have done the last week-end in Perugia. Being able to eliminate the favourite team of the tournament was a fantastic experience, we showed our competences, but we have to consider defeat against Modena during the Final as well. We are sorry we didn’t win the trophy, but we have to be positive because we did a lot of positive things at Pala Burton. Getting from 0-2 to 2-2 in a Final with a new and young group was not banal. We didn’t divide and we played with energy and enthusiasm. We have to work a lot but we have many satisfactions as well. We know we have great means at our disposal”.

SUPERLEGA. "In Supercoppa we have just seen four of several teams that will make funny this new championship. We will have to fight against everyone; the level has been elevated a lot and it will make everything better but also harder. A very difficult match against Siena awaits us on Sunday, also because we will play against a very good setter as Marouf who will be their added value”.

LEON. "My block on Leon's first attack? Just luck. Probably even a phenomenon like him may have felt a big emotion in starting his new adventure in Perugia but this is also the nice part of sport because it means that even great players like him are human. Probably he started a bit with the handbrake on and I took advantage of it. I want to be honest: to block it means that someone like him means that there is something wrong, maybe he was attacking lower balls, he can jump so high that it’s almost impossible to stop him".

CAPTAIN. "I’ve always been one of the youngest in the Trentino Volley. I am happy, however, to take on the role of Captain of this team from this season; Last time I was captain was in the Under 14 and I have to learn a lot, but my teammates will help me. I count on everyone's support, but I’m going to work in a very peaceful way, without protesting too much with the referees for any decisions that we will not agree with".
GREEN CARD. "I was the first player to receive the green card; from this year you can no longer try to cheat thanks to the video-check and I think it's right this way; there will be the opportunity to stop less the game to checks the various cameras and watch the video all togheter. Volleyball is different from all other sports for this reason as well".
