SuperLega round on Wednesday: here the Itas Trentino-Top Volley Latina guide

The sixth round of regular season SuperLega Credem Banca 2018/19 will be played between 7th and 8th of November, the first one during the week. For the occasion, Itas Trentino will play at the BLM Group Arena against Top Volley Latina. The match will start at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday: live on Radio Dolomiti and Lega Volley Channel.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The point gained in Civitanova Marche on Sunday allowed Itas Trentino not to be too far from the third place in the ranking and, at the same time, to preserve their fourth place. Giannelli and his teammates now have to keep up with the pace they had in the last home matches (two 3-0 wins) also this time.
“We are about to play this match with what we have done in Civitanova Marche on Sunday behind us, a result that can be considered positive only if it doesn’t lead to be content with it – declared the coach Angelo Lorenzetti by presenting the match against Latina – We must approach this match with the awareness that we didn’t have the time to train in the gym and because of this we will need to be even more careful. Top Volley is one of the oldest societies of our league, it has a lot of experience, and from my point of view it has obtained less than what its way of playing deserved in the first matches. Sottile is a setter able to lead his team well; it will not be easy to get a break-point against this team”.
The coach Lorenzetti can count to the complete roster, thirteen players, who will train at the BLM Group Arena today late in the afternoon and on Wednesday morning. Only at the very end the players of the first team will be known: on the ballot are the role of outside hitter (Vettori or Nelli) and the spiker (Van Garderen or Russel) to be placed on the diagonal to serve Kovacevic (his 50th presence with Itas Trentino, with which he has already scored 691 points, on average 14.1 per match).
On this occasion, Trentino Volley will play its 771st official match and try to win for the 532nd time: of these 278 in home matches and 253 in away ones.
THE OPPONENTS After the defeat in three sets against Modena on Sunday (played in PalaBarbuto, in Naples), Top Volley will come to Trento trying to gain some positions, currently they are third from the bottom of the ranking with Sora and Vibo Valentia both with five points. In the first five matches, the team of Lorenzo Tubertini (who has been for years the assistant coach of Lorenzetti in Piacenza and Modena) has won twice and lost three times, moving up through the ranks thanks to the 3-1 win against Siena and the one at the tie break against Milano in Busto Arsizio. Of great impact, at the begging of the season were the Slovenian opposite hitter, previously playing for Verona Stern, with 79 points scored, the spiker Parodi, who often scored more as 10 points per match and also the Argentine outside hitter Palacios, who was in difficulty just in the last match. Above all, for the role of middle blocker, Gitto had a nice start, with fifteen successful blocks he is now second in the ranking of blockers of the league, behind Yosifov.
PREVIOUS MATCHES Latina and Trentino Volley have already played thirty-six official matches, which rank the opponents at the fifth place of the more challenged teams by Itas Trentino. The total result is in favour of Trento with 28-8, in fact, it has won eight times in a row. Besides, at the BLM Group Arena, Itas Trentino has won fifteen of the eighteen matches played until now. The most recent win against Latina in front of the audience of Trento has been on 23rd November 2017 (3-2 comeback victory), whereas the most recent in Lazio has been on 13th April 2014 (1-3 in the return match of the Play Off for the fifth place). The most frequent score founded is 3-0, win for Itas Trentino (for a total of fifteen matches); the most recent is a 3-1 Itas Trentino’s victory on 7th February in the PalaBianchini of Latina.
REFEREES The match will be supervised by the duo composed by Massimo Florian (from Treviso, in Serie A from 2007) and Umberto Zanussi (from Belluno, in Serie A from 2006), both of them at their third seasonal match in SuperLega Credem Banca. Florian last arbitrated Trentino Volley during a home match against Vibo Valentia (on 21st of February, won in three sets), while for Zanussi the most recent meeting with Itas Trentino dates back to the 4th of March (defeated at the tie break in Monza).
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The complete match will be told live by Radio Dolomiti, network partner of Trentino Volley. The connections with the BLM Group Arena of Trento will take place within “Campioni di Sport”, Radio Dolomiti’s Sunday sport show. The frequencies to listen to the regional network can be consulted on the website www.radiodolomiti.com, where it will also be possible to follow the radio update live on streaming. Also planned the live broadcast on streaming video on the website “Lega Volley Channel”, on www.elevensports.it/superlega (service on demand). The complete pre-recording will be broadcasted on television in prime time on Saturday 10th of November at 9.00 p.m. on RTTR, Trentino Volley’s tv partner. The updates step by step will be controlled by Lega Pallavolo Serie A’s website (www.legavolley.it) and by www.trentinovolley.it and will always be active on Itas Trentino’s social networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
TICKETS AND MERCHANDISING It’s possible to buy the tickets for the match against Latina at any moment on internet on www.vivaticket.it/ita/event/itas-trentino-latina/121054. The vouchers will be available also Wednesday night at the cashier of the BLM Group Arena, active from 7.30 p.m., moment from which the gates of the arena will be opened. Inside, behind the long gallery north side, the fans will find the team’s merchandising spot at their disposal, a very wide range of official Trentino Volley items will be on sale.
“DORIGONI DAY” The “Dorigoni Day” will be celebrated during the third internal match of the season; in order to celebrate the long-time partnership together with the audience of Itas Trentino, Trentino Volley and Dorigoni will arrange a variety of initiatives that will see the official supplier as the protagonist/ main character on Match Program, in the Hospitality Area and on the led panels of the BLM Group Arena, that will show dorigoni’s logo especially for the event. Also the mvp of the match award labelled/sponsored Dorigoni, chosen by the journalists in the press box. Giacomo Poggi, Dorigoni’s general manager, will hand the award.
