Trentino Itas nails first match of 2019 CEV Cup quarter-finals: Haching defeated 3-0

The last international match of year 2018 went well for Trentino Itas and gave the results that the team was looking for in order to continue the competition with self confidence. Tonight at BLM Group Arena the World Champions defeated german team Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching by 3-0 in the first leg of the eightsfinal. This outcome allows the team to travel to Germany on January with only two sets to win in order to access the quarter finals.
Trentino Itas built this little but important advantage and managed to contain the opponent with the attack (59% team av.) and the block (10 blocks scored, 6 by middle-blockers). The fifth consecutive win of the season was a contribution of Vettori (best scorer and MVP with 15 points scored, 75% in attack), Russell (8 and 62%) and the usual Kovacevic, who was served by Giannelli to resolve the heaviest balls of the game. The team performed well also at the nine meters line with 7 aces (3 scored by Vettori) and few mistakes (15); the opponent struggled in attack and had to surrender.
