Towards the match against Perugia, Lorenzetti: “A demanding match rather than important”

The whole team of Itas Trentino is working for the first appointment of 2019. The agenda ensured that the debut of the new year immediately corresponded with a decisive match like that of Saturday night that will see the Italian champions from Perugia playing at the BLM Group Arena. Itas Trentino has been preparing the appointment for two days with all of its players, willing to prove themselves winners for the nineteenth time in a row (possibly the tenth time at the BLM Group Arena, where they only gave one set to the opponents up until now).
“The match against Perugia could be considered as a test, because it’s an important appointment – said the coach Angelo Lorenzetti to Trentino Volley TV - . The adjectives that could be used for this match are various but if I had to choose one I would use “demanding”. In fact Sir Safety is a team that in the SuperLega going round has extensively shown to deserve the first position in the ranking, improving further the good results that were already registered in the phase of side-out and break point in the last championship. Playing against this formation will be a big task for us, also because we just had a couple of days off that, from the mental point of view were very useful but aren’t always good for our training. We have to get quickly reacquainted with the court and the ball in order to approach in the best possible way the second part of a beautiful and very intense season. January will be particular because in the first half there will only be three matches and in the second half we will be busy playing many matches, one more important than the other. Not only the staff will need to plan well the work for such a particular moment but also the players will need to find the right confidence with the workload we’re going to offer”.
“The results confirm that we play better at home but, except for the approach to the matches, up until now I saw only a few differences between our way of playing in front of our fans and playing away – added Lorenzetti - . Surely we prefer playing at the BLM Group Arena because we have our fans close to us but it’s not easier. Some results are favored by the calendar and with Perugia we will have the opportunity to understand on what level we are, as long as we don’t let the single event condition us. Our regular season will have many other essential matches and we don’t have to live this appointment as the only important one of our return round”.
