Cisterna di Latina (Latina), 27 January 2019
Itas Trentino’s route in SuperLega starts again immediately: Latina lost 3-0 in Cisterna

After winning the home match against Verona in Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2019 on Wednesday, Itas Trentino is back on the path of SuperLega, achieving three points with the same scoring. The World Champions have won in just three sets against Top Volley Latina at the arena of Cisterna Latina, confirming the past record with this team, during the sixth round of regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2018/19. The tenth consecutive win against the opponents from Lazio allowed Giannelli and his teammates to move on from the loss against Civitanova and protect their second place. To achieve the KO in the home match against Lube we needed a high performance in both the result and the technic. Aspects that were to be found during the match against Latina, Itas Trentino has done well taking the lead since the beginning and keeping it firmly until the end. The break point phase was characterised by an effective serving (7 aces with 9 mistakes, confirmed Verona later) and by an excellent work done blocking and defending especially Rusell’s (mvp and best scorer with 19 points and 75% attack efficiency, three aces and one block) and Vettori’s (15 points with 50% attack efficiency) performances made a contribution to the team. Kovacevic’s absence from the court was almost unnoticed, coach Lorenzetti let him rest for the occasion and had him replaced with Van Garderen who has done well between the first (55% attack efficiency and two blocks) and the second line (65% defense efficiency).
