HERE ITAS TRENTINO. Once finished the Final Four of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2019, the World Champion team returns to concentrate only on the championship for at least a month. On this occasion, Giannelli and his mates will face their longest away game of regular season. They will also play at PalaCalafiore in Reggio Calabria for the first time in their history, where the whole roster is present. Angelo Lorenzetti can count on the whole roster for this match given that he completed the last two training sessions with all the thirteen players before the journey began this morning.
“Of course it is a difficult match but I am sure that it is better to face difficult matches in this period of the season and, more generally, difficulties of all kinds because they allow us to immediately understand how we are able to experience them – declared the trainer of Trentino Volley -. Specifically, Tonno Callipo Calabria is a team that until now has only played one official match and we know very little about it; we therefore know how Baranowicz plays, a very experienced and valid setter. SuperLega is a beautiful and difficult championship and this aspect can improve the staff and us in order to play with all our strength. The appointment in Reggio Calabria opens a week where we play three matches. There was little time to prepare them but it must be said that I have good players at my disposal, who are not novices".
The one in PalaCalfiore will be only one of the three appointments scheduled in the next nine days, bearing in mind that Itas Trentino will face Calzedonia Verona at BLM Group Arena on Saturday 9th of November (6.00 p.m) and Gas Sales Piacenza on Wednesday 13th (8.30 p.m). Itas Trentino will take the field for its 819th official match and it try to win for the 572 time. Now the team count 299 home victories and 272 away.
THE OPPONENTS. Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia is waiting for Itas Trentino for its first match in the new field. In this season, the yellow-red team moved at PalaCalfiore (arena that can host more than 8000 spectators and where they played against Modena in the last championship), which opens its doors in this regular season.
In fact, on the opening day Vibo Velentia had its rest day while the day after they were playing in Padua, losing in three sets. Compared to the past, President Callipo's company has chosen the former coach of Molfetta and Siena Cichello and has changed most of the players in his team: the French national middle-blocker Chinenyeze, of the setter and new captain Baranowicz (returned to Italy after a season in Turkey) and the Brazilian opposite Drame Neto. The other usual player are the centrals Mengozzi and Vitelli and the second setter Marsilli, and the trio of spikers made up of Defalco.
