Champions League: in the first preliminary round Trento in group F with Novi Sad & London

The five groups of the Main Phase and the six pools of the first preliminary round of 2021 CEV Volleyball Champions League were made official the morning of August 21 in Luxembourg. Trentino Itas will begin its tenth participation in the most important continental tournament, in Pool F of the first preliminary round, which also includes the Serbs from Novi Sad and the British from London. In the coming days, in agreement with the individual clubs, the CEV will decide whether in this initial phase a single round robin will be played (organized at home by only one of the three clubs in question) or whether they will actually be played (as originally planned for the tournament) three different round robins (one in each club's house). The possible dates are 22-23-24 September (first round), 29-30 September, 1 October (second round), 6-7-8 October (third round). Only the first classified of the six previous rounds will access the second and last preliminary round, which will face each other again in two groups made up of three teams: the two winners will qualify for the Main Phase. In case of victory in both groups of the preliminary phase, Trentino Itas will be included in the group that also includes Novosibirsk, Friedichshafen and Karlovarsko.
The Captain of Trentino Volley Simone Giannelli also took part in the Luxembourg "Drawing of Lots" as guest of honor, who had the task of drawing lots for the matches of the five rounds of both the men's and women's Main Phase of the tournament.
