Jersey numbers of the 2020/21 season: Lucarelli has number 8, Nimir chooses number 14

The jersey numbers chosen by the Trentino Volley players for the 2020/21 season are now officia. The season will officially start on Sunday 13 September with the first leg of the semifinal of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2020, at the BLM Group Arena against Cucine Lube Civitanova at 18.00.

Three of the four confirmed players of last season have kept the number already worn in the past; only De Angelis left the number 8 to Lucarelli, choosing 24 (which corresponds to his current age, the shirt he started playing with and a tribute to his idol, Kobe Bryant).
Among the many new faces, it should be noted that, in addition to the Brazilian hitter spiker, also Podrascanin (he will wear the number 18 he already wore in the national team and which he also used in previous experiences in Perugia and Civitanova), Rossini (7), Cortesia (2), Sperotto (6) and Argenta (3) have kept the number they wore in the previous season in other teams. Nimir and Kooy, on the other hand, went through new solutions: 14 for the opposite spiker, 11 for the hitter spiker; the two players have never used these numbers in the Italian league before.
The reference jersey will continue to be number 9 of captain Simone Giannelli. The most interesting statistical curiosity is linked to this uniform: 9 is in fact the only number always on the list in the previous twenty years of activity of the Via Trener Club; before the South Tyrolean setter, the number had been wore by well-known names such as Grbic, Nascimento, Sala, Hübner, Bernardi and Lavorato, the first historic captain.
