On Sunday the home debut in Superlega Credem Banca 2020/21

This weekend the second round of the regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2020/21 will be played. For Itas Trentino the moment of the home debut will arrive in the championship as well: at the BLM Group Arena the gialloblù team will receive the visit of NBV Verona in the traditional Adige derby. The kickoff is at 18 on Sunday 4 October: the live coverage on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel at www.elevensports.it.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO Archived with success the first three days of the preliminary phases of Champions League, the team from Trento will return to deal with the Italian championship to start a cycle of big matches. On Sunday, the match against Verona will open a two weeks period in which Giannelli and teammates will face only top teams, considering that on 7 October is scheduled a new away match in Civitanova (third round of the regular season), on 11 the one in Piacenza and on 18 the home match against Perugia (the one against Modena, originally scheduled for the 14, was postponed to 5 November).
However, Itas Trentino wants to focus on a match at a time and in the last two days it has prepared the Adige derby with the same attention. “The home debut in the championship is always a particular moment, felt by the whole sector and this time it will be even more so because we’re facing an ambitious and valuable opponent like Verona – explained the coach Angelo Lorenzetti, presenting the appointment - . We want to have a good start also in our internal path, but we know that it will not be easy because the guests have a great value trio. Limiting Kaziyski, Boyer and Jaeschke will be our first goal, but at the same time I want my team to know how to be immediately aggressive with what we have.”
The gialloblù coach will have to do without the spiker Michieletto (occupied this weekend in the Final Four of the European Juniores in the Czech Republic), but he can count on the full recovery of Lisinac, who will offer one more alternative to the starting six to choose for the event. On sixteen occasions out of twenty previous seasons of the national top league, Trentino Volley has won the first home match: the only four losses are related to the years 2004/05 (Trento-Perugia 1-3), 2006/07 (Trento-Taranto 2-3), 2012/13 (Trento-Vibo 1-3) and 2017/18 (Trento-Milano 2-3). The one on Sunday will be the 851 official match of the Club of via Trener, the 392 at the BLM Group Arena, where up to now it has won 310 matches and has not lost since February 16 (1-3 with Modena).
THE OPPONENTS NBV Verona will come to Trento on the hunt for its first seasonal win. It has lost the first four official matches, 0-3 with Milano, 2-3 with Monza e 0-3 with Vibo in the first phase of the Italian Cup and three sets Monday evening with Civitanova in the SuperLega debut. The match against Cucine Lube played five days ago at home has shown how the team is growing in attack, also thanks to the recovery of Jaeschke in place 4. The return on the field of the American will be one of the many reasons of interest for the match of the Venetians at the BLM Group Arena, but the main one will be the return of Matey Kaziyski (still the best scorer in the history of Trentino with 4,945 points in 334 games) and Radostin Stoytchev (389 matches as coach of Trentino Volley), which in Trento they have won fifteen titles. For the first time they will show up themselves together as former; in the past they have already done it separately but never together in the same team. With them also Dario Simoni, assistant coach of the same Bulgarian between 2014 and 2016 and of Lorenzetti between 2016 and 2017.
PRECEDENTS The one played this Sunday will be the thirty-ninth official confrontation between the two Companies; the so-called Adige derby has almost always been won by the team of Trento, with twenty-eight previous victories. The most recent match has given great balance; 9 November 2019, fourth day of the first leg round (the second leg was never played because of the lockdown), success for 3-2 (25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 19-25, 16-14) by Itas Trentino at the BLM Group Arena. Verona never wins in Trento for almost three years (5 November 2017, success for 3-1), but in the past it’s always been able to win in other three circumstances. The two formations faced each other in the pre-championship in two joint trainings: the 26 August at the BLM Group Arena (4-0 for the Trentino team with partials of 25-17, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20) and the 2 September at the AGSM Forum in Verona (3-1 for the Trentino team with partials of 24-26, 23-25, 13-25, 29-27). The match was placed in the second day of the regular season like in the 2008/09 season, when the gialloblù team played an away game (5 October 2010), taking a ko at the tie break.
THE REFEREES The match will be arbitrated by the couple composed of Armando Simbari (from Milano, in Seria A from 2017 and international from 2016) and Rossella Piana (from Carpi – Modena, in role from 2005 and international from 2014). The last precedent with Trentino Volley for Simbar was another derby, the one of A22 with Modena, lost by 1-3 the last 16 Februar at home, while for Piana the most recent precedent corresponds to the 3-0 on January 16 in Monza.
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The match will have live and full coverage by Radio Dolomiti, in connection from the BLM Group Arena at 18. The frequencies to tune into the media partner are on the website www.radiodolomiti.com, where you can listen to the radio report live streaming as well.
