Itas Trentino-Leo Shoes Modena 3-0, the match report

Match report. The starting six of A22 derby is not a surprise, Itas Trentino only could not count on Kooy, so the players are the same that had won in Verona, 3 days before: Giannelli at serve, Nimir as opposite, Michieletto and Lucarelli as hitter-spikers, Podrascanin and Lisinac as middle-blockers, Rossini as libero. While Leo Shoes’ line-up is composed by Christenson at serve, Vettori as opposite, Lavia and Petric as hitter-spikers, Mazzone and Stankovic as middle-blockers, Grebennikov as libero. The set, led by gialloblù, is determined since the beginning Lisinac and Lucarelli are scoring (4-1; Modena tries to recover (6-5) but Giannelli scores an ace (8-5). During the central phase Itas increases its advantage (13-8) thanks to a block made by Lucarelli against Vettori (time-out called by Giani), the opponent team replied with a block and an attack by Stankovic  (13-11, Lorenzetti asks for a time-out). The same does Mazzone and Leo Shoes recovers 15-15, then the match goes on point to point until 19-18 and then Lucarelli attacks and Podrascanin does a block against Vettori(21-18) But the opponents quickly recovers until 24-24, taking advantage of some errors made my Michieletto; but finally Lisinac let his team conclude the match (26-24).
The battle is point to point also at the beginning of the second set, until when Nimir begins his action with a block and an ace and Itas goes from 8-8 to 12-9 (time-out called by Giani). Vettori scores to 13-12, but then Giannelli scores a block and the continuity of Lucarelli increases the advantage even more (17-14). In the end the real leader of the play is Podrascanin and his blocks (21-16); the team only wins the second set 25-22 because Vettori tries to recover till 23-21.
A great beginning of Itas doesn’t scare the opponent team, indeed vettori and Mazzone recover to 7 points. But once again the Dutch opposite increases the advantage (10-7), helped also by Lucarelli (16-11). Modena does not give up, thanks to a block recovers until 19-17; Lorenzetti calls a time-out, and as the match starts again the team wins 25-20 led by the Brazilian and by Michieletto.
