SuperLega, on Sunday Itas Trentino on field in Perugia for the big match of round 17th

SuperLega Credem Banca 2020/21, on field during the first weekend of the year for Day 6 of the second round of regular season, Day 17th in general. In this occasion, Itas Trentino will play on away field against Sir Safety Conad Perugia, on Sunday 3rd January. At PalaBarton, the starting whistle is scheduled for 6 pm; the match will be broadcast live on RAI Sport +.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO Gialloblù line-up will start the year playing the match against the team on first position of the ranking. It has been 2 years since the two team played in Umbria, due to the calendar of the matches and the lockdown. After such an amazing December (nine victories out of 9 matches achieving 17 of the 18 available points) Giannelli and his fellow-players will now chase another victory, the most difficult one... But this time the whole team will play! Indeed, Kooy finally recovered and the Danish hitter spiker has regularly trained with the team during last days, on Sunday he’ll be an available substitute on place 4, Angelo Lorenzetti can finally count on him too. 
"When you’re playing against one of the best teams of the ranking, no matter the points you could gain, what you really care is how does your team play - said coach Angelo Lorenzetti while presenting the match - . Objectively Perugia is a formation that does not adapt to our aggressive spirit, because it is able to make you pay a thousand per thousand for everything you don’t do well. The guys have trained well during the few days they had to get ready for the match, and it will surely be a battle; I hope this will be just the first one of the many match we’ll play against Sir Safety Conad in this 2021. Nine consecutive victories are source of great satisfaction for us and a symbol of what we’ve been able to do after an harsh period. This doesn’t mean that from now on everything will be easy, but we’ll surely be more confident and we’ll keep working in order to improve".
The match at PalaBarton will be the first one as former-player of the Sir Safety Conad for Marko Podrascanin, he played for 4 years wearing the skirt of that team, in that time the team won a Championship, two times the Italian Cup and two Italian Supercup. On Sunday, Trentino Volley will play match number 24 of its season, up to now it has achieved 17 victories and its last defeat was on 25th November (1-3 against Vibo on home field). During this regular season, gialloblù gained more points on away field than at the BLM, winning 6 matches out of 8 (ko only in  Civitanova and in Monza) and gaining 18 points out of the 24 available. In general, Itas has already played 868 official matches, winning 290 times on away field (out of 468 matches).
THE OPPONENTS having achieved 43 points (thanks to 14 victories out of 16 matches) Sir Safety Conad Perugia is on first place of the ranking of regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2020/21, on the second place is Civitanova (10 points less than the other team, but the team also played 2 matches less than the other one). The team guided by Heynen has always shown its ability, above all during the first round as the team won 5 out of 5 matches played, its opponents only won 2 sets: one was won by Vibo Valentia and the other one by Verona. The result of Block Devils at PalaBarton has been almost perfect: the opponents only won 4 sets out of 8 matches played (3 as the team was defeated by Civitanova, right before Christmas) and  gained two points. Best players among the team (which in September won its 3rd Supercup) are the hitter spiker of place 4 Leon and Plotnytskyi, also Atanasijevic is now fit and have finally recovered from some problems that did not let him play at the beginning of the season. Statistics report that Perugia is particularly good at block and at serve (second place on both rendition rankings), thanks to the great abilities of the Captain and of Solé, who at the moment is the best of the championship in attack.
PREVIOUS MATCHES Trento and Perugia has already played 35 official matches, but due to the pandemic they only played once in 2020: during the first round of last year, on 18th October, won 1-3 by Perugia (25-17, 22-25, 17-25, 25-27 and Leon mvp with18 points). In general Trentino won 18-17 but the opponents won 11 out of the last 15 matches played. The most recent match was on 28th October 2018 (defeat in 4 sets, match of regular season), while last match won by Trentino was on 6th October 2018 (3-0 semi-final of Supercup, played in Perugia). In total, Trentino Volley won 4 out of 14 matches played at PalaBarton. 
REFEREES the match will be directed by Armando Simbari (from Milan, in Serie A since 2007 and international since 2016) and Luca Sobrero (from Carcare, role-referee since 1996 and international since 2004), for Simbari this will be match number 7, for Sobrero number 5 in SuperLega. Last match of Trentino Volley directed by Simbari was on 4th October 2020 (defeat on home field in 3 sets against Verona), the last one with Sobrero was on 11th October 2020: success in 3 sets in Piacenza.
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The event will be very important at a worldwide level, for this reason it will be broadcast live on tv, radio and INTERNET. Indeed, RAI Sport + will broadcast it on channel number 57 in HD, on 58 in sd and on Sky on channel 227; the commentary will be made by Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; it will be possible to follow it also on RaiPlay, both video and audio.
It will also be broadcast on Radio Dolomiti, media partner of Trentino Volley, starting from 6 pm. It will be possible to find the frequencies on www.radiodolomiti.com, there it will also be possible to listen to it going to the section “On Air”.
