Sir Safety Conad Perugia-Itas Trentino 1-3, the match report

The starting six offers only one important news compared to what expected on the Eve; Itas Trentino gets back Kooky, who Angelo Lorenzetti puts on the bench, preferring to embrace the line of continuity. On the field, there are Giannelli as setter, Nimir as opposite spiker, Michieletto and Lucarelli as spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle blockers, Rossini libero. Sir Safety Conad responds with Travica as setter, Vernon-Evans in place of Atanasijevic as opposite spiker, Leon and Plotnytskyi as spikers, Ricci and Solé as middle blockers, Colaci libero. The start of Trento is immediate: Lisinac (attack and ace), Nimir and Giannelli (two consecutive winning blocks on Leon and Vernon-Evans) already fix the score on 9-3 for the guests. Heynen has already used the two time outs, but at the restart of the game only the gialloblù score (13-5), taking advantage of the frequent mistakes of the opponents (between many, two consecutive of Ricci). Perugia tries to comeback with Leon and Solé, beginning to score some breakpoints that jeopardize the gialloblù leadership in the partial (from 16-10 to 18-14). The time out requested by Lorenzetti doesn’t have any effect, because the Umbrians continue to score and tie (20-20), also using an attack at the net by Lisinac. Itas Trentino doesn’t give up and scores a break of 5 (25-20), which is valid for the set. With Lucarelli at service and Nimir in attack, it goes to the change of field on the 1-0.
In the second set, Sir Safety Conad stands the rhythm of Giannelli and teammates for the first half of the partial (6-6, 9-9), then a block of Podrascanin on Ter Horst (on the field from the final of the precedent period in place of Vernon-Evans) is valid for 12-10. Perugia doesn’t give up, and thanks to aces (one for every rotation of Ricci, Ter Horst and Plotnytskyi) scores again until 14-14, and then he goes for 15-17. An ace, this time of Lucarelli, brings parity back to 17, then Sir Safety Conad scores again with Leon (18-20) and Plotnytskyi (20-23), managing well the final phases (23-25).
With enthusiasm, the Umbrians start quickly the third partial as well (0-3, 3-7), thanks to Leon who catches every ball that comes to his part. Itas Trentino tries to respond with Lucarelli (7-10), but then is again the Caribbean spiker (7-12) to widen the gap. The time out by Lorenzetti is providential, because at the restart of the game the aces of Giannelli, Lucarelli and Nimir bring back the gialloblù (12-13, 15-15), that then score thanks to the Dutch opposite spiker. Trento is now on fire and continues to widen the gap, thanks to Lucarelli (20-16); Perugia fails to counterattack and surrenders under the blows of the guests that close the third set with a block of Kooy (25-20), who just take over from Michieletto.
The gialloblù start very well the fourth set thanks to Nimir (from 4-4 to 8-4), working great between block and defence. Lisinac and Lucarelli score and protect the gap (13-8, 15-10); Perugia has one last strength with Vernon-Evans at service (19-17), but then leaves room thanks to an unstoppable Nimir: 25-21 and 3-1 final.
