The knockout match scheduled for Wednesday 27 January at the BLM Group Arena, against Allianz Milano (7 pm, live Radio Dolomiti and Eleven Sports), will inaugurate the 19th participation in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup in twenty-one seasons of activity for Trentino Volleyball, which missed the final stage of the competition only in the debut season in A1 (2000/01, eliminated in the quarter-finals of the preliminary stage by Cuneo), and in the last one run by Lattari (2006/07).

The victory of the competition came in three cases: 31 January 2010 in Montecatini Terme thanks to a 3-1 win over Cuneo in the final, 19 February 2012 with a 3-2 comeback on the Lube at the PalaLottomatica in Rome and 30 December 2012 with 3- 1 always on the Lube at the Assago Forum. Overall, the finals played are seven, also taking into account those lost against Cuneo (2010/11), Modena (2014/15 and 2015/16) and Civitanova (2016/17). In the other five participations, the elimination went directly to the quarter-finals: in 2002/03 by Macerata, in 2003/04 by Cuneo, in 2004/05, in 2007/08 and in 2008/09 again against Treviso.
