Itas Trentino-Allianz Milano 3-0, the match report

The match report. Three weeks after the match of regular season, the formation coached by Angelo Lorenzetti succeeded in confirming its superiority on the Milaneses, winning for the sixteenth consecutive time and obtaining the same result conquered the last 6 January. In this case, the success was less clear but however never questioned, considering that the hosts have always guided the game operations, using in a good way its line at the net: 66% of the team with peaks of Michieletto (78%), Lisinac (at his hundredth match, 86%), and Nimir (MVP with 17 points, 67%, two aces and one block). For the immediate future, it was important also the recovery of Kooy, on the field in place of Michieletto in the final part of the third set and immediately scoring in attack.
The match report. For the match, Angelo Lorenzetti retrieves Kooy, but initially decides to confirm the starting six of the latest four official matches: Giannelli as setter, Nimir as opposite spiker, Michieletto and Lucarelli as spikers, Podrascanin and Lisinac (at his hundredth attendance in the gialloblù team) as middle blockers, Rossini libero. Allianz Milano coached by Roberto Piazza has Sbertoli as setter, Patry as opposite spiker, Maar and Ishikawa as spikers, Mosca and Kozamernik as middle blockers, Staforini libero. The guests have the best approach to the game, who from the initial 4-4 made by change ball go to +3 (4-7) with a counterattack of Patry and a block of Sbertoli on Lucarelli; Itas Trentino responds immediately with Michieletto, the Brazilian (attack and two aces), and Nimir, quickly overturning the situation (11-8). The time out of the Lombards doesn’t have concrete effects, because Patry continues to struggle at the net, and the gialloblù are very efficient in the change ball phase (14-11). After having the maximum advantage, the hosts disunite, granting room to the opponents: an invasion of Lucarelli and a block of Mosca on Podrascanin score the tie (14-14). To recover, Giannelli and teammates need a few minutes; only on 19-17 (counterattack of Nimir) Trento finds the double advantage and protects it until the end (21-19, 23-21, 24-22), before winning the set with a breakpoint of Podrascanin.
A couple of aces of Nimir starts the second set in favour of the hosts as well; on 4-1 Lorenzetti’s formation continues to push in the break phase with great blows of Michieletto, Podrascanin, and Lucarelli, earning even more room (from 8-5 to 11-5, time out of Piazza). Milano tries to respond in the central part of the set, using Ishikawa (16-13), until it arrives at -2 (21-19) thanks to a slash of Patry. The time out called by Lorenzetti produces the response of the gialloblù: Nimir wins the set to the sound of breakpoints (24-19); 2-0 arrives already on 25-21 (attack of Lucarelli).
In the third set, Piazza alternates Urnaut to Maar; in a first moment, Allianz stands its ground (4-3 and 8-7), also thanks to the ideas of the former on duty who then makes a mistake in attack, committing an invasion and suffering the ace of Lucarelli (11-7). The guests disunite, the Milanese coach reverses a decision (again Maar on the field), while Lorenzetti offers room to Kooy. Trento is unstoppable (15-9, 20-12) that see the place in Bologna even more near: 3-0 arrives on 25-21 at the BLM Group Arena.
