The semi-final of Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2021 is of Sir Safety Conad Perugia

The run of Itas Trentino in Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2021 ends in the semi-final. Sir Safety Conad Perugia, which this evening succeeded in winning in only three sets the match at the Unipol Arena in Bologna and so conquered the qualification at the game that will assign the 43^ edition of the biggest national trophy, stops the path for the gialloblù team towards the possible qualification at its eighth Final ever in the competition.
To interrupt the positive streak of the gialloblù, which had lasted for over two months and had sixteen consecutive wins, the Umbrians showed, since the first exchange, a very aggressive volleyball, composed by incredible serves (at the end 13 winnings) and very few mistakes, both from the line of nine meters (14) and in attack (only two serves out). Leon, MVP with 27 personal points of which four blocks and eight aces, dragged his teammates throughout the race and did the necessary sprints to widen the gap. On the other hand, Itas Trentino not only struggled in reception, but also wasn’t efficient in the break phase, having difficulties in change ball as well. Among the few to be saved the Brazilian Lucarelli, best scorer gialloblù with ten personal points, two aces and 47% in attack. In the third set, Lorenzetti tried to change the terms midway, using Kooy instead of Michieletto (however effective at the net), but the gap was too clear to try to make a comeback, after a negative final of the first partial and a second period all uphill.
