Play Off Scudetto, in the quarter-finals the match against Piacenza. Match 1 on 10th March

The second act of the preliminary round that precedes the quarter-finals of the Play Off Scudetto 2021, played over the weekend, defined two of the three pairings that were still missing to complete the quarter-final draw. Only Milan and Verona will have to play Match 3 (Saturday 6 March), while the away victories of Modena (Saturday in Ravenna), and Piacenza (in Padua) offered qualification to two of the three teams that had already won a week before Match 1.

In the first round of the Scudetto Play Offs for Trentino Volley, the match with Piacenza is renewed, a team already faced in the post season four times: three in the Final (2008, 2009, 2013 editions) and one in the quarter-finals (2005 edition) . Whenever the two teams faced each other in the Play Offs, the tiebreaker match was always used to decree the name of the winner.
For the Via Trener Club, the one that will open on March 10 will be the eighteen participation in the Scudetto Play Offs in twenty-one total seasons of activity: in the first two seasons (2000/01 and 2001/02) it did not qualify, while in the last (2019/20) it was the Covid-19 emergency that prevented it from taking place. On the previous seventeen occasions, in twelve circumstances the Via Trener Club managed to pass the quarter-finals. If we exclude the bitter and very brief adventure of the 2014 edition, in every Play Off in which he took part, Trentino Volley has always won at least one match; in fourteen cases out of seventeen already in the first match.
