Itas Trentino-Cucine Lube Civitanova 0-3, the match 2 report

The match 2 report. Angelo Lorenzetti chooses to start from the sextet several times seen on the field in the last period; diagonally to Lucarelli there is Michieletto in place 4, while the other five in the starting six are Giannelli as setter, Nimir opposite spiker, Lisinac and Podrascanin in the center and Rossini libero. Cucine Lube Civitanova responds with De Cecco as setter, Rychlicki opposite spiker, Juantorena and Leal spikers, Simon and Anzani middle-blockers and Balaso llibero. The start is marked by breaks and counter-breaks; Trento with Michieletto and Nimir sprints on 3-0, but Simon's services immediately overturn the score (3-4). Lucarelli with an attack allows the giallo-blù team to return forward (7-6) and then Nimir to widens the gap with an ace (11-9) but the +2 lasts only a moment because then the same Dutch opposite is stopped by a block of Leal (11-11). In the second part of the set the two teams alternate in command (14-15, 16-15, 16-17) showing above all the fundamental of the block; precisely a block, by Leal on Nimir, forces Lorenzetti to stop the game at 17-19. At the resumption, the ace of Civitanova immediately equalized the score and launched the sprint for the success of the first set, which was resolved in the photofinish (21-21) with Kooy on the field in place of Michieletto; on 23-23 Leal has again an excellent turn at service, characterized by an ace and a slash, which Anzani closes for 23-25.
After the field change, the teams resume playing point to point, showing Juantorena on one side (4-5) and Kooy (which remained in the sextet) on the other (7-6). A two-handed attack by Giannelli after a long exchange leads to +2 (10-8, time for Blengini), to which the Marchisans respond with the usual Leal (10-11). Cucine Lube puts pressure on Simon's serve (from 12-13 to 12-18), forcing Lorenzetti to run out of time outs and to bring Michieletto back on the field. However, the set is now heavily addressed and Nimir's pride in serving (from 15-22 to 20-22) is not enough to put the set back on its feet, which the guests secure with Simon's attack (23-25).
Simon's serves also heavily affect the start of the third set, which Cucine Lube immediately puts on the good tracks (2-6 and then 3-9 when Rychlicki also shines in attack). Kooy finds the rythm but not enough (4-11); some ideas from Lucarelli and Nimir give a couple of points (9-15), but it is too little to hope to reopen a dispute that in fact ends early with an ace and a counterattack from Rychlicki (9-18). Then Cucine Lube manage the margin well and close at 0-3 at 17-25.
