On Easter on the field in Civitanova Marche for match 3 of Semifinal Play Off Scudetto

On Easter (Sunday 4 April), match 3 of Semifinal Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2021 is played at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche. On the field of Cucine Lube, Itas Trentino will hunt for the victory that makes it move forward in the series played at the best of the fifth matches. HERE ITAS TRENTINO The gialloblù formation is ready to move on from the setback, the absolute first in these Play Off, of Thursday evening at the BLM Group Arena, and in the Marche will try to do another convincing performance to return to conduct the fate of the series.

On this occasion, Captain Simone Giannelli will collect the 313th official match with the Trentino Volley jersey, the 48th in Play Off Scudetto. The record holder in both rankings is Emanuele Birarelli with 345 total attendances (in this case in a pair with Colaci), 60 only in the final ranking of the Italian championship.
SEVEN VICTORIES AND TWO DEFEATS IN THE PREVIOUS MATCH 3 OF SEMIFINAL Trentino Volley has already played nine times (on eighteen participations overall) a match 3 of Semifinal Play Off Scudetto, gathering seven victories and only two defeats. The victories are related to 3-1 in 2006 series with Treviso, 3-1 in 2009 series with Cuneo, 3-0 in 2011 series with Modena, 3-2 in 2015 series with Perugia, 3-1 in Modena in 2016, 3-1 at home with Perugia in 2017, and 3-2 on Civitanova in the one of 2019; the only KO are related to home 0-3 with Lube in 2010 series, and 2-3 in Perugia in 2018. Always regarding the numbers, the one of Sunday will be the 44th seasonal for the gialloblù (report of 33 victories and 10 defeats), the 889th official match ever, the 123rd in Play Off Scudetto, in which has 73 victories overall, of which 24 (on 58 played matches) away.
THE OPPONENTS After having obtained the tie with a great performance at service and blocking, Cucine Lube Civitanova will host the second match of the series at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova, strong also of a home tradition particularly favourable compared to Trentino Volley. The match of Thursday evening in Trento confirmed the growing conditions of Leal and De Cecco, the great shape of Simon, who scored with perseverance in all fundamentals, but also the condition of Juantorena, who wasn’t affected too much by the bruise at the right hand, suffered in match 1.
THE PRECEDENTS On Sunday, the eightieth match between the two Companies is played, the seventh seasonal; the overall report is in favour of Lube by 44-35, while the one of the current season is a tie (3-3), with the two teams that have won one time each in every one of the three competitions where they faced each other (Supercoppa, Regular Season, and Play Off). The gialloblù success of last Sunday was particularly important, because it stopped a negative streak for Trentino Volley that in the Marche lasted for over eight years and, especially, allowed to celebrate the first victory ever at the Eurosuole Forum after seventeen negative precedents.
THE SERIES The semifinals, just as the final, are played at the best of the fifth matches. It restarts from 1-1, after the away victories on 28 March at the Eurosuole Forum by 2-3 (partials of 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 24-26, 12-15) and at the BLM Group Arena on the first of April by 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 17-25). By reason of the current tie, match 4 must be played, which is played on Wednesday 7 April at 20.30 in Trento. If necessary, match 5 is scheduled on Sunday 11 April at 18, once again in Civitanova Marche. The one that passes the round will find in the Final the winning team of Perugia-Monza (series on 2-0, on Sunday evening match 3 in Umbria).
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by the Umbrian couple composed of Simone Santi (from Città di Castello) and Ilaria Vagni (from Perugia). For Santi, in Serie A since 1994 and as international referee of Fivb since 2011, this is the fifteenth seasonal match in SuperLega; two of them are related to Trentino Volley: one in Civitanova (7 October 2020, defeat in three sets), and one in Ravenna (30 December 2020, victory by 3-1). For Vagni, working since 2003 and in the international field since 2014, this is the twelfth match in 2020/21 championship; three of them are related to Trento, always away: a success by 3-0 in Piacenza on 11 October 2020, defeat in Milan by 3-0 on 3 February, and victory in Piacenza on 14 March 2021.
