Semifinal Play Off Scudetto, on Wednesday (at 20.30) at the BLM Group Arena match 4

Match 4 of Semifinal Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2021 is played at the BLM Group Arena in Trento on 7 April. For the second time in the series, Itas Trentino will play at home, hunting for the tie and cancelling the first opportunity for Cucine Lube to qualify. The kickoff is at 20.30: live on RAI Sport + and Radio Dolomiti.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The gialloblù team will face the fourth match of the series of the Semifinal with the need for victory so as not to stop its run in the Scudetto already on Wednesday evening. Despite the two consecutive victories between match 2 and match 3, the gialloblù Club is looking forward to the appointment with optimism, being able to count on the field factor. During the 2020/21 season, Trentino Volley has lost only four of the twenty-two home matches, and the one of Thursday is the only home setback of the latest four months; previously, it has won fifteen consecutive times.
“We have the possibility to bring back the series in Civitanova Marche for match 5 the next Sunday, and we want to live it to the fullest with the enthusiasm and determination of those who have worked all season for moments like these – said the coach Angelo Lorenzetti during the presentation of the match - . Much will depend on the approach to the match and on what we will be able to do in the break point phase; during the three previous matches, we were good at creating good occasions to change the course of the game, and we hope to create them also in this case, but this time with the necessity to capitalize them. Just like it happened in the recent past, the service will be the fundamental that decides the fate of this match; we will therefore have to be good at exploiting it but at the same time at containing the opponent's one with our reception line".
The coach of Itas Trentino will use the latest two training at the BLM Group Arena before match 4 (one this afternoon, the other on the morning of Wednesday) to dispel the last doubts regarding the starting six to be proposed on the field. Match 4 will be the 45th seasonal match for Trentino Volley, the 890th of its history, the 124th in the Play Off Scudetto (report of 73 victories and 50 defeats), where from 2011 onwards it has lost only six times at home out of 39 matches played. On this occasion, the gialloblù Company will play its 47° match of a Semifinal Off Scudetto, where it has 26 success and 20 KO.
TWO VICTORIES AND FIVE DEFEATS IN THE PREVIOUS MATCH 4 OF THE SEMIFINAL In the past, Trentino Volley has already played seven times (on seventeen previous participations overall) a match 4 of Semifinal Play Off Scudetto, winning two times and losing five times. The only successes are related to the home 3-2 on Lube in 2010 series and to 3-0 on Perugia in 2018, while the five KO are related to 2-3 at the PalaTrento in 2006 series with Treviso, to 1-3 at the PalaPanini in 2011 series and at the PalaTrento in 2016 against Modena, to 0-3 at the PalaEvangelisti in 2017 series against Perugia, and to 0-3 at the Eurosuole Forum in 2019 series.
THE OPPONENTS Cucine Lube Civitanova will go to Trento for the fourth time in this season with the goal to use the first (of the two) opportunity to qualify in what would be its fourth consecutive Final Scudetto, the seventh overall. The double success obtained in three days between Thursday 1 and Sunday 4 April has allowed Blengini’s formation to move forward in the series and possibly even have a home match to try to reach Perugia in the last act of the ranking.
THE PRECEDENTS Cucine Lube is the opponent faced several times by Trentino Volley in its history with 80 official matches in its history, seven only in this season; the report is in favour of Lube for 45-35, also thanks to twenty-four victories in the latest twenty-nine matches. However, Lube has won only one of the three most recent matches at the BLM Group Arena (match 2 of last Thursday). During the Play Off Scudetto, the report is in favour of the guests, being able to win against Trento four times in six total played matches. Overall, Trentino Volley succeeded in using the field factor in twenty-five of the thirty-five home matches played against Lube; the two most recent successes: 13 September 2020 (3-2 in the first round of the semifinal of Supercoppa) and 14 December 2020 (3-0 in regular season).
THE SERIES Cucine Lube Civitanova is on 2-1 in the series of the semifinal that is played at the best of fifth matches, thanks to the 3-0 at the BLM Group Arena in match 2 of the first of April with partials of 25-23, 25-23, 25-17, and to the 3-1 at the Eurosuole Forum in match 3 of 4 April (25-27, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21), which overturned the initial 0-1 for Trentino Volley thanks to the success in match 1 at the tie break in the Marche (25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 24-26, 12-15). On Wednesday, there is match 4 that could be the last of the series, only in case of a new victory for Lube; if Trento wins the match, match 5 will be necessary and is played once again in Civitanova Marche on Sunday 11 April at 18. The one that passes the round will find in the Final (also at the best of fifth matches, it will start on 13 April) Perugia, which closed the semifinal with 3-0 on Monza.
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Roberto Boris (first referee from Vigevano - Pavia) and Andrea Puecher, second referee from Padua. For Boris, in Serie A since 1997 and as international referee since 2010, it’s the twelfth seasonal match in SuperLega; two of them are related to Trentino Volley: victory at the tie break in Verona (6 December) and home success by 3-1 on Cisterna (16 January). For Puecher, working since 2003 and as international referee since 2013, it’s the thirteenth seasonal direction in SuperLega, two of them are related to Trentino Volley: victory by 3-1 in Modena (27 December) and home success in three sets on Milan (27 January – quarterfinal of the Italian Cup).
TV, RADIO, AND INTERNET The match is a global event and will be live on tv, radio, and Internet. It will be broadcast live by RAI Sport +, channel present both on the digital terrestrial platform (number 57 in HD, 58 in SD) and on the Sky satellite platform at number 227, with the report by Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; the game is also on streaming video-audio on the app RaiPlay.
