Statistics on Trentino Volley and Kedzierzyn-Kozle in view of the Final in Verona

Some notes and statistical curiosities related to Trentino Itas and GroupaAzoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle in view of the 2021 CEV Champions League Final on Saturday 1st May at the AGSM Forum in Verona.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
- The one played in Verona will be the first final in the history of CEV Champions League which will see an Italian team compete against a Polish one;
- Trentino Volley has won three of its five world titles, beating a Polish team in the Final: Belchatow in 2009 and 2010, Jastrzebski in 2011.
GROUP AZOTY KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE
- The Polish club qualified on this occasion for the first time in a Champions League Final; the best result previously obtained was a third place, in the 2003 edition;
- the team coached by Grbic could become the first Polish team to win the CEV Champions League. Belchatow (in the 2012 edition) and Rzeszow (in the 2015 edition) had come close to the title, finishing second;
- the only Polish team to previously win the title of European Champion was PlomienMilowice in the 1977/78 season, when the main continental event was called the Champions Cup and had a different formula of development;
- to qualify for the Final, Kedzierzyn-Kozle went from two golden sets, winning the play-off set both with Civitanova in the quarterfinals and with Kazan in the semifinals;
- the Polish team have lost two of the last three games played in the Champions League, but previously had won fourteen out of fifteen occasions.
TRENTINO ITAS
- Only Zenit Kazan (6) and Belogorie Belgorod (3) have won at least the same number of Trentino Volley titles (3) since the event passed from the Champions Cup to the Champions League;
- the gaillo-blù team lost the last match played in the Champions League by 2-3 in Perugia; that defeat ended a 14-game winning streak in the competition;
- with thirteen wins and one defeat, Trentino Itas has set the new record for the highest number of victories in a single edition of the CEV Champions League.
