Sada Cruzeiro-Trentino Itas 0-3, the match report

The match report. Angelo Lorenzetti confirms in the starting six the line up proposed only twenty-four hours before: Sbertoli as setter, Lavia as opposite spiker, Kaziyski and Michieletto as spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle blockers, Zenger libero. Sada Cruzeiro responds with Fernando as setter, Wallace as opposite spiker, Rodriguinho and Lopez as spikers, Otavio and Isac as middle blockers, Lukinha libero. At the start, the two teams don’t save themselves, starting to immediately play volleyball of high level (3-3 and 5-5); the first true break is yellow-blue, with a counterattack of Michieletto in line shot and a foul of Rodriguinho (9-7), which then Lopez ties only a few seconds after (9-9). Alessandro with a winning spike and Podrascanin in contrast to the net make another small gap, but Rodriguinho and Otavio (ace) tie on 14-14. Another ace of the Brazilian middle blocker on Zenger forces the coach of Trento to call a time-out, but at the restart Wallace makes the difference (15-17 and 15-20) with attack (two) and block. The extended blackout concerns Kaziyski up close, who suffers the attentions of the opponent block and is alternated by Cavuto on 16-21; the trend doesn’t change anymore and Lopez leads his teammates to the sound of attacks towards 1-0 (19-25).
The music doesn’t seem to change at the start of the second set, with the serve of Sada that immediately hurts Trento, in difficulty even to contain the adversary attacks (1-4). The hosts don’t grant anything (5-8), but a missed pass of Rodriguinho allows the yellow-blue to tie (8-8). It’s the block of Michieletto on Lopez to have the first yellow-blue advantage in the set (10-9); the fight becomes rapid and fought point-to-point, with the two teams that alternate in the lead (16-15 and 17-18). The ace of Rodriguinho breaks the balance (17-19, time out Lorenzetti), but Trentino Itas struggles in reception also on Isac (18-21). The blows of Michieletto and Kaziyski reawaken the hopes (21-22, time out Filipe), immediately extinguished by Wallace (23-25).
On the wave of enthusiasm, Sada Cruzeiro starts at full speed in the third set (2-5), taking advantage of the difficulties in the change ball phase of the yellow-blue. Trentino Itas tries to respond with Michieletto (6-8), but then loses contact again also for specific merits of the opponents, who with Isac raise speed (4-8 and 6-11). Lorenzetti puts also De Angelis for Zenger and then D’Heer, but the answer doesn’t arrive (12-18 and 14-20), and the match goes quickly towards 3-0 for the Brazilians (18-25), resulting in an Italian semifinal with Lube.
