SuperLega, Modena wins the 78th derby of the A22

The 78th derby of the A22 is bitter for Itas Trentino. After the midweek setback in Civitanova Marche, this evening the yellow-blue team had to give way to Leo Shoes PerkinElmer in the big match of the 20th round of the SuperLega Credem Banca regular season. The 2-3 final score, which forced the hosts to their first home defeat of 2022, does not however take away Kaziyski and his teammates' third place in the rankings, but the Emilians are only four points behind, with two matches less played. The yellow-blue team played a match with two faces: effective at the block, in attack and, more generally, in the break point phase in the first two sets (thanks to Lavia and Michieletto); always struggling during the second part, when Modena increased the serve and Trento, due to the tour de force of the last period (14 sets in seven days), struggled in reception and in the ball changes phase. However, the point won allows Lorenzetti's team to move up in the rankings (the last time they stopped without scoring points was against Modena on 21st November) and to look to the future with confidence. The growth of Lavia (Trentino's best scorer with 17 points, three of which at the block) and Michieletto (the best of his team at the net with 58% and 16 winning balls in total) bodes well for the next important engagements.
