Trentino Itas-Berlin Recycling Volleys 3-0, the match report

Match report. Angelo Lorenzetti proposes a Trentino Itas that has to do without Lavia (micro-injury in the abdominals) and lines up Sbertoli as setter, Pinali as opposite-spiker, Kaziyski and Michieletto in position 4, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle-blockers, Zenger libero. Berlin Recycling Volleys answers back with Grankin as setter, Patch as opposite-spiker, Schott and Carle as hitter-spikers, Mode and Jendryk as middle-blockers, Danani libero. Sbertoli offers the first point of the set, who blocks Carle delivering the home 4-2 and he is immediately imitated by Kaziyski (on Patch): the three points margins keep the same until 9-6, when Schott makes a ball-change and an ace (9-8). The tie is reached at 11 thanks to another point at serve of Patch; the Germans speed up with the American opposite-spiker still at serve (11-13, block of Grankin on Kaziyski) and force the host to call the time-out. At the restart, the guests keep going well with ball-change (14-16, 16-18), before suffer in reception (Pinali’s aces for 18-18) and in counterattack thanks to Podrascanin (19-18). Enard, Berliners’ coach, calls for the stop of the game, but it isn’t enough because then Trentno Itas flies to +2 (21-19), but then it is reaches by Jendryk (21-21). The end of the set is tight (22-22, 24-24) e takes to the lead, in which Trento has to wait until the third occasion (27-25) to end the games, thanks to another block of Podrascanin.
The host start big the second set in the long wave of victory in the sprint of the previous one, thanks to the counterattacks of Michieletto and the serves of Podrascanin, who remains at the nine-meter line from 5-4 to 10-4. Enard lines up Sotola in place of Patch but the balance of power doesn’t change (14-8 and 16-9), also because Grankins is inaccurate and Pinali hits the ball with continuity. The Germans try to come back in the final (21-17), but it’s too late because Kaziyski and Pinali defend till the end the promising advantage. (25-19).
The third set is balanced again, with the Germans forward on 3-4 and always keep a point ahead up to 10-11, before Michieletto (12-11) and one ace of Sbertoli (14-12) overpass them. Berlin stops the game, but Pinali gets +3 at the restart (16-13). It is not the decisive break, because Jendryk blocks Podrascanin and Carle successfully counterattacks reaching the tie at 19. The final rush honours Trentino Itas (21-21 and 25-22), solved by Kaziyski.
