HERE ITAS TRENTINO The final part of the current week saves another in or out match for the yellow-blue line-up that, after the six sets played on Thursday night in Champions League against Perugia, will have to be able to collect its physical and mental energies to play the most important match of the Italian season. A victory with every score is needed to continue competing for the Scudetto, that will allow to move on to the fourteenth Play Off Semifinal in the team’s history. Thanks to the better final position in the ranking of the regular season, Sbertoli and his teammates can face this delicate event in front of their audience, without knowing if they can count on their leader Matey Kaziyski. The injury of right knee during the fourth set of the match with Sir Sicoma Monini is in recovery, but the medical team will let know his availability only near the match eve. Angelo Lorenzetti will have to inevitably prepare the appointment not knowing which players to for starting six.
“Play the Play Off Scudetto means to be perfectly conscious that the tie-breaker match is not improbable, especially if you face a high-level team such as Piacenza – explained the coach of Trentino Volley during the presentation of the match - . We will have to be good at turning page in relation to Thursday night match against Perugia, we will have to find immediately back our physical excellence but also the clarity of mind. It won’t be easy; however, nothing is easy during this moment of the season and rightly so; we want to show on the court that we deserve the semifinal and we will try to get the qualification giving the best of us”.
FIFTEENTH TIE-BREAK MATCH IN PLAY OFF SCUDETTO In the course of the eighteen previous participations in Play Off Scudetto, Trentino Volley has already played fourteen tie-break matches, similar to the one of Sunday, winning nine of them: two with Modena (season 2005/06. 3-1 at PalaPanini in match3 with qualification to the semifinals and season 2010/11, 3-1 at PalaTrento match 5 with qualification to the Final later won on Cuneo), two right with Piacenza (both matches won: 3-0 at PalaTrento match 3 of final 2008 and 3-2 always at PalaTrento in match 5 of final 2013), two with Perugia (home victory at tie break in match 3 of semifinal 2015 and victory in three sets in match 5 of semifinal 2017), one with Molfetta (3-1 at PalaTrento in quarter finals of 2016), one with Verona (3-0 in Trento in quarter finals 2018) and one with Padova (3-0 in Trento in quarters 2019). The only home tie-break that Trento lost was the match 5 in Final Scudetto 2009, defeat at PalaTrento at tie break with Piacenza; the other eight matches was all won. This on Sunday will be the 937th official match of its history, the 46th of the season.
THE OPPONENTS Gas Sales Piacenza gets back in Trento to win the most important match of its recent history. For the new white-red Society, which has taken the baton from the previous society that was able to win also a championship in 2009, Sunday night there will be the first chance to get the qualification of the Semifinals Play Off in two participations of the scoreboard that award the title. For this reason, the appointment is awaited and cherished by both the Club and its supporters, that will come to BLM Group Arena in more or less ninety to try and encourage their team for the success. The spotlights are on the ex-player Aaron Russell, who made an amazing performance in match 2 (33 points with 64% in attack and 5 aces).
PREVIOUS MATCHES The match against Piacenza has become a classic of male Italian volleyball during the years, not only for the many matches played, that make the Emilian team the third opponent that Trentino Volley has faced the most (64, only Civitanova with 84 and Modena with 78 are ahead). The match has marked three championships finals (2008, 2009 and 2013) and came back in the highest Italian championship in season 2019/20 after only a year of absence: season 2018/19, in which the Emilian team had to deal with a Serie A restart. The report is clearly positive for Trentino Volley 45-19, especially thanks to the twenty-nine victories out of the thirty-four most recent direct matches. With the victory of match 2 last Sunday, the Emilians have stopped the negative path in which they had always been defeated in the previous nine matches played; the last victory of Piacenza in the arena in via Fersina is dated back on 17th May 2009 (3-2 in match 5 of Final Play Off, with the consequent victory of the championship). In total, Trento has won twenty-nine of the thirty-four official previous matches played against Piacenza in its well-known court.

These results have made the third and decisive tie-break match necessary. The team that will move on to the next match will face Cucine Lube Civitanova in the series of semifinals (the best of 5 matches, the first is scheduled on Thursday 14th April).
