Trentino Itas-Decospan VT Menen 3-0, the match report

Match report. For the first international match of the season, Angelo Lorenzetti applied a reasoned turnover, inserting in the starting six Sbertoli as setter, Nelli opposite, Džavoronok and Lavia in place 4, Pace libero and Lisinac and D'Heer as middle-blockers. Decospan VT Menen responded with Van Hoyweghen as setter, Lindt opposite, Capet and Hanninen as setter, Sinnesael and Van de Velde as middle-blocker and Bille libero. The start was in the sign of the Tuscan opposite, who scored all the active points of the hosts (two attacks and two blocks) for the initial 5-2.
The guests struggled a lot in attack and Trento took advantage of this to gain further control of the match (8-2), but after coach Depestele's time out they tried to raise their heads again (9-6). The yellow-blue got back on track with the block  (Sbertoli and D'Heer winning) and went to +6 (13-7), a margin that remained unstable only until 15-11 (Kindt's attack), because Lavia then entered the match (two attacks and an ace), backing up the already excellent Džavoronok seen in the first exchanges (18-11, 22-13). The close of the first set came on 25-16, with Nelli serving again.
The second partial was more hard-fought, opened by another move of the Tuscan outside-hitter (4-0), but also characterised by the effective and immediate response of the Belgians, who within a few minutes were back on the attack (7-6). Itas Trentino tried to shake off Menen (11-8) with Lavia at the net, but Menen again reacted by finding a tie-score thanks to a net error by compatriot D'Heer (11-11). Then Džavoronok (ace and pipe attack) put things back on track (15-12), because then on the wave of enthusiasm Trentino Itas stretched out, raised the block barrier with Lisinac and Nelli (20-15 and 23-16) and went 2-0 up at 25-17 (D'Heer's block).

Trentino Itas wanted to close quickly and in the third set got off to a flying start; Lavia's service rotation lasted until 9-1, with Nelli great at the net. Depestele quickly spent the time-outs at his disposal, but the hosts did not let their guard down (12-6 and 15-7) and quickly took home their second consecutive 3-0 victory of the season and the resulting three points for the standings in just over an hour of play (25-12).
In the final part of the match there was also space for the debut of Berger, who immediately scored.
