SuperLega, the derby of The Adige on boxing day goes to Itas Trentino

A day late, but still very welcome. Tonight, Itas Trentino gave their fans the Christmas present they had been waiting for: a three-point victory in the 44th Adige derby against Verona.
In the traditional setting of Boxing Day, the yellow-blue team at the BLM Group Arena defeated WithU Verona in just three sets, gaining their third consecutive victory in the SuperLega at the end of a match that, contrary to what one might have imagined (looking at the first match), was a long monologue of the hosts, who were able to surprise the guests with what is usually one of Verona's strong points: the serve.
A great start thanks to serves; in the end there were 13 aces against just seven errors with Lisinac scoring five direct points.  Lorenzetti's team literally overwhelmed their opponents, never allowing them to answer, because in addition to the incisiveness from the nine-meter line, Trento could count on a very attentive block (9 wins, 4 only for Kaziyski) and an irrepressible attack (61% overall), well inspired by Sbertoli.
That's why the setter was voted MVP on an evening in which Lavia (14 points with 65% and three aces), Lisinac (15 with 89% and also two walls) and Podrascanin (8 with 86%) were unremarkable.
The success allows Itas Trentino to stay on the same path of Modena and Civitanova in the race for second place, but as early as Wednesday the championship will give way to the important Coppa Italia-related parenthesis with another derby on the horizon: the A22 derby that awards the pass for the Final Four in Rome at the end of February.

Below is the scoreboard of the thirteenth match of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2022/23 regular season played tonight at the BLM Group Arena.
