Itas Trentino conquers PalaPanini and flies to the final four of the Italian Cup

For the fourteenth consecutive season (the sixteenth in overall) Itas Trentino will be among the main characters of the Final Four of the Italian Cup. The access to the weekend of February 25th-26th at the PalaEur in Rome, which will be valid for the 45th edition of the top national trophy, has been gained tonight thanks to the 3-1 success over Modena in the unique quarterfinals’ match; the opponents of the semifinal will be the winning team from Civitanova-Milano match (who will compete in the Marche on Thursday night).
The yellow-blue shortlist obtained this amazing success by overturning the home advantage; as it already happens two months ago, the PalaPanini turned out to be a winning court for Kaziyski and his teammates, who were able to fight, stand up to an opponent such Valsa Group and leave the home distance alone, proving all of the team’s value. After failing a first difficult set, Lorenzetti’s team was able to comeback, to suffer and go even more further thanks to a strongly fourth final and the will to react; these qualities were crucial to hold the reins of the second set (won at the set beyond the normal score), but also to resist to the several comebacks attempts of the hosts in the next sets. The captain Kaziyski is on the ball again (he scored 22 times with 48% in attack, a block and an ace), and he is the mvp and symbol who shows how to turn a bad-started match into an important success. To support him there were Podrascanin (5 blocks, with 56% in attack and an always ready service), Michieletto, who was crucial in some important moments of the three sets won (12 points) and Lavia, who crisched 13 balls and responded well to the hosts’ serves: Laurenzano followed him (and was very active in defence). There wouldn’t be a better ending to 2022 and 2023 seems to promise even more satisfaction and emotions.

Below is the scoreboard of the quarterfinals of Del Monte® Italian Cup 2023 played tonight at the PalaPanini in Modena.
