Transfers, another young italian spiker for Itas Trentino: here is Giulio Magalini

For the 2023/24 season, the roster of the Itas Trentino men's Italian Champion will be able to count exclusively on young Italian talents as far as the hitters are concerned. In fact, it will be Giulio Magalini, a 21-year-old from Verona, who will complete the area of the position-4 strikers, alongside Cavuto, Lavia and Michieletto.
For the spiker, taken from Verona Volley, it is to all intents and purposes a return to Trento and Trentino Volley, a club with which he had already played a previous season of Serie A3 in the 2019/20 season, playing in the ranks of UniTrento Volley. In those days Giulio was the main striker of the yellow-blue university formation together with Alessandro Michieletto, with whom he shared the entire path of the Italian Youth National Teams (full of gold, continental and international medals) and whom he has just found again in these days in the azzurri's jersey; in fact, both of them appear in the group chosen by De Giorgi to play the second stage of VNL 2023, currently taking place in Rotterdam.
In the three seasons since that experience, Magalini has steadily played in the lineup of his hometown, in SuperLega, finding more and more space as the 175 points scored in the last two championships well tell. A perfect player, particularly skilled in attack and serving, in Trento he will have the opportunity to make a further improvement in quality.
"Magalini is a perfect element for the project we want to develop and for the environment he will find in the gym every day; that's why I immediately agreed with the management when they showed great interest in him" said Itas Trentino coach Fabio Soli, he continues “He is a very physically strong boy; maybe in the last period he may have found little space on the court but I am convinced that he can have a bright future ahead of him. The reception is definitely the one in which he can grow the most; working with patience and daily consistency he will get great results in the second line as well. More than a surprise, in my opinion, he will prove to be an added value to the group".
Giulio Magalini has signed a two-year contract and will wear jersey number 12, which in the history of Trentino Volley has previously been used by only one other hitter: Tiziano Mazzone in the 2014/15 season.
