Preparation, new home test on Wednesday: 5.30 p.m. match against Innsbruck

On Wednesday,  October 4th, Itas Trentino men's team will be back on court at the ilT quotidiano Arena for the third test match of their pre-season preparation. After the eight sets played in the space of a week against Modena (in Schio, on 23 September) and S. Croce (in Trento, on  September 30th), starting at 5.30 p.m. the Gialloblù will face the reigning Austrian champions Hypo Tirol Innsbruck at the via Fersina facility in a match that will once again be played as a joint training session.
"During the last three weeks before our SuperLega debut (scheduled for Sunday 22 October in Cisterna di Latina) we will often take to the court for matches like the one we will face on Wednesday," Trentino Volley coach Fabio Soli emphasized. "In fact, we absolutely need to acquire match rhythm, in order to bring the players at our disposal to the level of those who are playing in the national team, and, at the same time, to constantly verify our technical- tactical condition. The match against Innsbruck, which will be followed by the commitment against Prata di Pordenone on Saturday afternoon, will therefore be very useful to ensure continuity to our work and test us against opponents of value".  The coach from Trentino will still have to do without Cavuto (he will return to the group next week, after having done about 20 days of separate work due to an abdominal injury suffered in late September), but he will be able to count on all the other players currently available, including the large number of players from the Youth Sector: setter Bernardis, setters Bristot and Fedrici, and powerhouses Dell'Osso, Pellacani and Sandu. On the other side of the net there will be an Innsbruck team that has already been at full strength for a couple of weeks, having already played the Austrian Supercup Final (won at the end of September thanks to a 3-0 win over Waldviertel) and debuted in the national championship last weekend, imposing a 3-0 home win on Amstetten. In the squad led by Stefan Chrtiansky (the Tyrolean team's historical coach) there are many foreign players, including the Italian setter from the Modena school Salsi. The other outstanding elements are the Brazilians Weber (opposite spiker), Nath (hitter spiker) and Frances (middle-blocker), the American Mcintosh (libero), the Serbian Jovanovic (another director) and the Estonian Varblane (middle-blocker), whom Soli coached last year in the national team. In the medical staff there is also room for an old acquaintance of the yellow-blue: the physiotherapist is in fact Stefan Chrtiansky Jr., who just over ten years ago wore the yellow-blue jersey as the fourth setter of the team that won the Club World Cup, Coppa Italia and the Scudetto in the 2012/13 season.
The joint training session will be held in open court and will be live streamed on Trentino Volley's YouTube channel (www.trentinovolley.it/trentinovolleytv).
