SuperLega, 1,000th match in Trentino Volley men's history in Verona on Sunday

After the Del Monte Supercoppa Final Four in Biella, Itas Trentino is ready to turn the page and focus on its next challenge, scheduled for Sunday in Veneto. On Nov. 5, at the unusual time of 7:30 p.m., the Gialloblù team will face Rana Verona for the third-round match of the regular season SuperLega Credem Banca 2023/24. To prepare, the team resumed training as early as Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday had a double session divided into groups. This match will be very special for Trentino Volley: the yellow-blue Club will cut the ribbon of one thousand official matches in more than 20 years of history for the men's team (the women's team has played 39 so far).
The numbers: Trentino Volley has won 693 of the 999 matches played by the men's team: 361 within the friendly walls of the ilT quotidiano Arena (formerly PalaTrento and BLM Group Arena), 332 away. The most frequently achieved result was a 3-0 victory, on 362 occasions. On the other hand, the most frequent score for a loss was 1-3 (118 times); the least frequent score was the three-set defeat (89). In total, Trentino Volleyball has played 573 SuperLega (formerly Serie A1) regular season matches, 146 Scudetto playoff matches, 2 5th place playoff matches, 20 Supercoppa matches, 49 Coppa Italia matches, while in 209 instances the Club has played on the world stage (46 times in Club World Cup, 123 in Champions League, 3 in Top Teams Cup, 37 in the CEV Cup). The player who has scored the most is Matey Kaziyski (who has taken the court 43% of the time – in 433 matches out of 999), who also holds the records for points scored (6,066 points) and for the number of matches wearing the captain’s armband (306). The coach who has led the team from the bench the most is Radostin Stoytchev (389 appearances with 319 wins), who interestingly will be on the other side of the court on Sunday. The most frequently challenged opponent is Lube (95 times). Curiously, Itas Trentino played its very first game in Parma, led on the bench by Bruno Bagnoli, who is now coach of Verona's Youth Sector.
