Itas Trentino-Sir Susa Vim Perugia 3-1, the match report

Chronicle of the match: Itas Trentino returns to the tricolor mondoflex of the ilT quotidiano Arena exactly three weeks after the last home match (November 26, 3-0 against Catania), with the typical lineup: Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite, Michieletto and Lavia as spikers, Kozamernik and Podrascanin in the middle, and Laurenzano as libero. The Sir Susa Vim Perugia proposed by Lorenzetti (applauded for a long time and rewarded in the pre-match by the club and fans for his first return to Trento) includes Giannelli as setter, Ben Tara as opposite, Semeniuk and Plotnytskyi as spikers, Solé and Flavio Gualberto as middle blockers, and Colaci as libero. The start is all in favour of the guests: with Giannelli serving, Perugia quickly takes the lead at 0-3, but the home team takes only a few exchanges to catch up, thanks to Rychlicki (5-5). Semeniuk (ace) and Solé (block on Lavia) offer a new +3 (6-9) that forces Soli to interrupt the game. At the restart, Michieletto hits the shot for the new tie at 11, and from there on the contest is fought point by point (15-15, 18-18). Itas Trentino takes the lead with an ace from Rychlicki (21-20, Umbrian time-out), then extends it with Lavia (24-21), who also closes the set with a block on Ben Tara for 25-21.
After the change of sides, the match resumes (5-5, 8-8); an ace from Rychlicki breaks the balance (12-10), but Sir Susa Vim immediately catches up with Plotnyskyi (13-13). The new yellow-blue acceleration comes again with the serve, this time by Michieletto (two consecutive points for 21-18, interrupted by a Lorenzetti time-out); Perugia replies again with Plotnytskyi (block on Rychlicki for 21-20) and Semeniuk (winning serve for 22-22). In the sprint, Lavia is decisive again: a short ace for 25-23 and a 2-0 lead.
In the third set Sir Susa Vim tries to bounce back; their attempt, led by Plontytskyi (0-3 and 3-5), is soon countered by the Italian Champions with Lavia once again in the spotlight (8-8). An attack during the Ukrainian hammer's break and a net error by Rychlicki produce a new Umbrian break (10-13); this time, the home team is a bit disjointed (11-15) and does not immediately manage to get closer (15-18), also because Perugia does not offer them many chances. One of the few opportunities is seized by Michieletto, after a superb defense by Laurenzano (19-20), then Rychlicki makes it 21-21. Lorenzetti calls a time-out, and at resumption, Semiunk (22-24) offers the break that secures the fourth set (23-25).
The set opens with a point-by-point exchange (5-5), then Flavio Gualberto blocks Podrascanin, and Ben Tara finds two consecutive aces on Lavia (7-11). The break is significant; Soli calls a time-out, and then another one a few minutes later, at 10-15, because Plotnytskyi stops Rychlicki at the block. However, at the resumption of play, the yellow-blue team revives with Michieletto serving, who, in addition to two aces in a row, also causes some indirect errors in the opponent's halfcourt up to 14-15. Parity arrives a few minutes later, after a series of rallies and a roof block by Rychlicki on Plotnytskyi (19-19). It goes to the sprint again (22-22), decided by a break point from Kozamernik in the rebuild (25-23).
