Forever 1 of us! Kaziyski's jersey gets retired: soon on the roof of the Arena

From words to deeds, as soon as there was a chance. On May 18, 2023, during the Scudetto dinner with sponsors, players, and executives, President Bruno Da Re had greeted and thanked Matey Kaziyski, informing him that the number 1 jersey worn by the Bulgarian star for 433 times in his career in Trento wouldn’t be used by anyone else, and would be retired starting the following season.
Wednesday night, on the occasion of the Kaiser's return for the first time as an opponent after winning the fifth yellow-blue Scudetto, the top Trentino executive kept that promise, symbolically handing Matey the banner depicting a stylized uniform with his number and last name. Starting in February it will find its place on the roof of the ilT quotidiano Arena, next to all the victories collected in these first twenty-four years of activity by Trentino Volley. The moment, intense and touching at the same time, was accompanied by a long applause and a general standing ovation, which moved not only the old and new fans present but also the player himself.
