Play Off, Itas Trentino gets the quarter-final series with Modena off on the right foot

The defence of the tricolour they wear on their shirts starts off on the right foot for Itas Trentino. Making their debut in the Credem Banca 2024 Play Off Scudetto, the Italian champions immediately secured Game 1 of the quarterfinals this evening, defeating Valsa Group Modena 3-0 at the ilT quotidiano Arena in Trento.
The first act (of a possible five) of the A22 derby that will assign a place in the semifinals saw the home team capitalise on the home court factor, resisting in the first set the continuous attempts to break the bank by the Emilians, who arrived at the via Fersina facility with a decidedly different flair than in the previous regular season match. A great team performance was needed to repel the guest's assault, build the advantage in the match, and thus be able to face game 2 away on Sunday afternoon at PalaPanini with more serenity. After winning the tug-of-war in the opening period thanks to greater block accuracy and the consistent contribution of Michieletto and Rychlicki (12 points between the two in the first period, 29 in total over the match), the tricolour players were able to firmly take the reins of the match, always keeping the opponent at a distance between the second and third periods. This was thanks to the growth of Acquarone (increasingly in tune with his forwards), but also to the great performance of Lavia, voted mvp thanks to 14 personal points with 55% in attack and two aces, and the incisiveness in every fundamental at the centre of the net of Kozamernik, in double figures thanks to 70% in the first half, a block and two point hits.
Here is the scoreboard of game 1 of the quarterfinals of the Play Off Scudetto SuperLega Credem Banca 2024 played tonight at the ilT quotidiano Arena.
