BTS Arena, Coach Marcelo Mendez already in Trento: begins work with the team

This afternoon marked the official start of Marcelo Mendez’s tenure as head coach of the Itas Trentino men’s team. Having arrived in Trento on Tuesday directly from the Philippines— where he wrapped up his long-standing role as head coach of Argentina on Sunday— the new gialloblù coach wasted no time, leading his first training session at the BTS Arena less than 24 hours later.
Mendez will be officially presented to the media and fans next week, after spending a few days getting acquainted with the Trentino environment and the players already available. He will have a first opportunity to assess the squad this coming weekend during a double friendly match against German side ASV Dachau Volleys.
Joining the group today was also German player Simon Torwie, the first athlete from the recent World Championship to arrive in Trento and immediately begin training.
