On Wednesday in Rovereto first test match of the season

After forty-two days of preparation, which also entailed three joint training sessions with Mantova (2-2) and Dachau (double 4-0), it’s now time for the men's Itas Trentino to make their seasonal debut in a friendly match. The opportunity will be provided by the confrontation that the Italian Champions will have on Wednesday 1st October at the Palazzetto dello Sport “Angelo Marchetti” in Rovereto with the Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia of Serie A2: the kick-off is scheduled for 7pm, with ticket presales also available on the internet.
A very useful test match for several reasons and one which will take place in the middle of the seventh week of pre-championship activity; the last one will be carried out in reduced numbers. The new coach Marcelo Mendez, making his debut on the yellow-blue bench, will, in fact, still have to do without the new world champions Michieletto and Sbertoli and then also Gabi Garcia and Lavia, but he will be able to count on all the other ten members of the team, taking into account that, just in the last few days, the opposite Théo Faure and the middle-blocker Flavio Gualberto Resende, have joined the group, while also being returning players from the World Cup.
On the other side of the net, Itas Trentino will find an adversary like Brescia, a great protagonist in the last season of the cadet championship (it was a finalist in the promotional Play Offs and won the Italian Cup reserved for the category), which boasts three former players of the round like the libero Rossini, the middle-blocker Berger and the spiker Cavuto in the roster. In the squad coached by Roberto Zambonardi, the other prominent names are those of spiker Cominetti, opposite Lucconi and Tondo in place 3 ( who was already seen in the SuperLega with the Milan, Catania and Piacenza jerseys). In the Lombard pre-season there was no shortage of wonderful test matches; in fact, the match on Wednesday evening in Rovereto will be the third with a SuperLega team after the team had already played in the previous weeks with Verona and Piacenza in matches which were definitely hard fought (two defeats only 3-1).
The organizing committee of the event, made up of Lions Club Rovereto Fortunato Depero, Lagaris Volley, Municipality of Rovereto and Associazione Giacomo Sintini, will donate the entire proceeds from the earnings of the match to the families of children suffering from onco-hematological diseases being treated at the Trento Hospital. There are two types of tickets available: 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for people under 17; those under 12 will be able to access for free but will have the choice to make an offer upon entry to support the noble cause of the match.
