Kovacevic after the match with Piacenza: “Constantly improving, against Zaksa on Wednesday we’ll show the same determination”

After successfully passing the test with Wixo LPR Piacenza on Sunday night and confirming the fourth place in SuperLega, Diatec Trentino must now focus on the second last match of the 2018 CEV Champions League Main Phase, the most important of the Pool E. Starting from tonight’s training, the team coached by Angelo Lorenzetti will prepare the match against Polish champion team Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle, scheduled on Wednesday February 14th at 8:30 pm in PalaTrento; the two teams will compete to decide who will take the lead in the pool, as Zaksa follows Diatec Trentino only one point behind (9 to 10) with the same number of victories (3). An eventual win in four or less sets would let Diatec mathematically confirm the first place in the rank, and the qualification for the Playoffs 12, one game day earlier. Zaksa’s coach Andrea Gardini will play his first match as coach in Italy. The home team will approach the match coming from positive results during the regular season.
“Piacenza was a tough opponent and had proved that by winning five consecutive matches in regular season; we played well and started the match with the right attitude to win - said spiker Uros Kovacevic, who scored twelve points on Sunday -. “Recently we had always lost the first set and struggled to find the match mind-set; this time we approached perfectly and we proved our growth, because we won by 3-0. On Sunday our defense increased the pace and confirmed how badly we want to win. In the match against Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle we must show the same will to succeed; it’s the most important match of this early phase of the tournament, we want to win and continue our path in the european competition”.
