Just over two weeks and then for Diatec Trentino comes the time to start working for the beginning of the new season. The first act 2016/17 of the agonistic year was indeed scheduled on Monday afternoon, August 8th, when the team will gather at PalaTrento.
Unlike the recent past, the initial part of preparation is characterized by the presence of a very large number of players: with the exception of six athletes involved with their national teams (Antonov, Colaci, Gianelli, Lanza, Solé and Van de Voorde), all other eight elements of the new squad will respond to this first call. The new trainer Angelo Lorenzetti and confirmed Assistant Coach Dario Simoni can then immediately count on the setter Alessandro Blasi, on the opposite Gabriele Nelli and Jan Stokr, on Spiker Tiziano Mazzone and Urnaut Tine, on the middle-blocker Matteo Burgsthaler and Daniele Mazzone and on the libero Matteo Chiappa.
In the first period it will therefore be treated with particular attention not only to the preparation of individual athletes available, but also begin to lay the technical foundations and tactics ahead of a season once again rich in participation between commitments to the Italian Super Cup (on September 24th-25th in a location that will be formally announced shortly by the Volleyball League), Super League UnipolSai (starting from October 2nd in PalaTrento with Vibo), CEV Cup (first match on January 4th away) and, possibly, the Italian Cup final draw 2017, to be accessed by the first twelve classified of the regular season the first round.
